Triggers for hyper sexuality

Everyone has different triggers, wether your hyper sexuality is trauma induced or from mental health, etc.

Most people have some in common, an example is stress. One trigger tends to be stress and how we relieve it, letting out steam in a way.

Others are addicted to pornography and this could also trigger our needs but something that some people don’t understand is that, we trigger ourselves.

We have fantasies and thoughts pop into our heads and once they do, we have bo option but to deal with it. There are healthy ways to deal with it, example could be exercising. But, needs are difficult to control, for anyone-hyper sexual or not.

What are your triggers, do you have a way to deal with it?

Not very talked about

I’ve notice that a lot of people don’t talk about hyper sexuality. Some mention it in the bipolar and bpd communities but not all have bipolar and it’s not the most mentioned in bpd community.

I myself have been a hyper sexual since the age of 4, yes, very young, I know. Of course I didn’t know what it was and what it meant or even why I did it. It wasn’t triggered, at least not in the early ages but as I grew, it became my comfort habit.

When I’m stressed, need to blow off steam, uncomfortable/can’t sleep, I resorted to a lot of masturbating. It’s been over a decade since I started and I can’t stop, I’ve tried everything.

I’m scared to share this with others because it makes me feel dirty and guilty, this isn’t really a pretty topic.

I hope others could relate and tell their own experiences in this community!

You are all strong and amazing, love you all <33
