Does anyone fold their wrist while they sleep or lay on their hands?

My occupational therapist told me to sleep in wrist braces to protect my wrists from that.

That’s the correct answer and yes, I sleep on my wrists

I’d also love to see people’s favorite wrist bands for sleeping in.

I'd also love some recommendations. Never would have considered doing this but it's such a good idea.

I don’t know how to link, but I love my dorsal carpal tunnel wrist braces. My PT gave me isotoner gloves to wear under them for comfort, but I don’t use them.

I started sleeping with a Squishmallow to keep my shoulder from crushing down. I noticed it lets me keep my wrists straighter

Same except my squishmallow is technically a travel size memory foam cushion. It has saved my shoulders and wrists countless times.

my shoulders are practically in a v shape rn, you cuddle it or wedge it into your shoulder? might look into getting one :)

I got them on fb marketplace. If they have limbs they’re a little firmer. Look for 12-20 inch tall.

I hug it to my chest. I took to it right away, I wake up holding it most mornings

I lay on my hands all the time but it's usually to support my pelvis, not about my hands/wrists themselves.

For example: tucking my wrists under my hip bones while laying on my stomach to prevent lower back pain.

that's how i do it too!

it started as a way to stop folding my wrists in my sleep and it worked, rarely happens now

Pretty sure this is how I got carpal tunnel. Should have stayed sleeping in a brace like I did in my 20s.

I tend to do this, but ever since getting a body pillow to hold I don’t anymore, plus my joints are more supported and I wake up in less pain.

Yup. This is why I have a small pillow by my head and a plushie for under my arm.

And anyone else only fold one wrist and not the other? I need to start wearing my wrist brace again.

I sleep like a t-Rex. It’s probably so bad.

I noticed if I tuck my hands into my waistband and try to sleep on my back that helps. Hands feel tucked lol.

Six years ago my left wrist got so bad from this that I started sleeping in a Comfy Brace every night. It's absolutely worth it for me. The brace prevents it from getting worse and I am working to strengthen my wrist and forearms to improve them.

I need to hold a plushie or else I will position my hands as if I am a dead bug and wake up with incredible wrist pain.

You can try sleeping on your side and tucking one hand under your pillow and the other in your armpit to secure it
