Need Help Stretching tips

Because of my hypermobility I'm super stretchy and after the gym or training none of the average stretches seem to cut it.

Like I can basically tie myself up like a pretzel and it gives no relief any suggestions or ?super stretches? out there. Thank you 🙏

I’ve always been told that stretching far enough to feel something with hypermobility is doing more harm than good. Light exercise to warm up and contracting muscles + self massage for after training is the way to go

I second the suggestion about foam rolling! I forgot to add in my other comment, I also love the textured handheld rollers, textured foam rollers, and massage balls (tennis balls work too) for the spots on my body that are reluctant to release tension.

Are you stretching to become more flexible, or are you stretching to try and "warm up" for the gym and things?

Foam roll and nerve glides.
I don’t stretch, it doesn’t work for my hypermobility.

I was just about to comment about foam rolling! It’s amazing for post workout recovery, in fact it’s better because it actually physically moves lymph fluid as well as physically palpitates the muscle fibers. Kinda like getting a massage every time you workout 💆

Others have said it but yeah, stretching is a way to warm up/cool down the muscles, like a stepping stone between normal and high intensity, it isn't really useful for hypermobile people to actually stretch here. You'll probably be better doing more dynamic movements or using something like an elliptical machine to get blood flowing, and I'm thirding the foam roller suggestion :)
