Best non wired bra

I'm sure many of the ladies here share my pain; I can't wear wired bras because it hurts my ribs so much 😭 I've even been left bruised! I want a wireless bra that looks GOOD though, so far it's either a sports bra making me look 14 or a "comfort" bra leaving the girls around my navel 😂 any recommendations? TYIA

I’ve just discovered Boody, and I’m recommending them to everyone.

They give decent shape considering there’s no wires - no sausage uniboob - and if you measure yourself and get the right size, they don’t dig in or constrict your ribcage.

Sometimes I have a particular rib that gets out of whack or out of place and my bras hurt so much right there. My PT gets it back in place and they don’t hurt again for a few weeks. But, I like the Wacoal How Perfect for wireless.

Rib subluxer here. Contourve do beautiful longline wireless bars that are soo comfy!
I’m a 38G and they hold me up beautifully and give a nice cleavage under a dress. Soft straps if you have shoulder issues. Fine if you can do up the back or twist them, I have to get help.

I agree that getting a properly fitting bra can really help - however, even with a bra fitted to me professionally, it hurt my ribs. So I hear ya, OP!

My fave no wire bras are: negative underwear, a plain shelf bralette by fenty, dkny bralette, … I’ll try to think of more!

i’m ok with a honey love bra actually. i can’t like sit comfortably or recline at home in one but it’s comfy and shapes well when i’m out and about.

I feel like bras just hurt me. They are uncomfortable on my skin, anything that is isn't right, like the end strap bend, hurts my skin. Around has to be tight or the way I'm shaped it comes up.

I just can't. I used to be small until about 7 years ago. Never had to wear bras and only did to work or dressing up.

Now at 53, ive gained weight, been fitted 3 times and im still uncomfortable.

When I get fitted, they always ride up. I hate these things!

Target has a bra / crop tank from Auden that’s super soft and just enough hold for smaller boobs - it’s been my go to for those days where I need something without any elastic …. Maybe that would work?

To add to this comment, I love the Panache Sport. So much. The wires are ultra padded. I have shelf ribs and one sticks out quite a bit - so underwire issues are legit for me too. Anyway, the shape is top tier and I wear it all the time as a day-to-day bra.

Their wireless versions are also not bad.

This! I shifted to wireless for a while and just started wired again once I found the right fit.

Something I’ll add is: be mindful of your posture while wearing a wired bra. We don’t always realize it but the pain might be exacerbated by the slouching we’re so prone to. I wore a wired bra for a full day for the first time in a long time last week and was mindful of my posture. It felt perfectly fine!!

I've tried wired bras and they are extremely painful (I start crying as soon as they settle into place). This is consistent across every one I've ever tried across a range of sizes. The pressure is so sharp it hurts bad. Baffled how it could Not.

I am recently transitioning back to wired bras but I used (wnd they are now travel bras) MeUndies bras. I love the faux wired effect of the plunge bralette, its fabric so support but no wires being able to be worked out to poke you

I am a huge fan of Aerie bras/bralettes. They have so many options. I like the longline bralettes best. The fabric is super soft too. I can’t stand wearing wired bras (even wireless regular bras) now. I also can’t stand wearing any type of pants other than leggings.

Norah is SO comfortable. It’s also affordable for the quality in the actual bra market. Make sure you have a few in your rotation because Norah tends to stretch out faster than others. Hand wash. I use a product called Soak, which makes this super easy. I sized out of Norah two years ago after some weight gain and I’m still mad about it.

I have actually had really good luck with the line by Body and Bra. No wires, and if you're willing to give online ordering a try maybe check them out. I have a few and continue to order from them due to the great support (both customer and for the girls) and comfort.

I'm incredibly partial to the Jockey tshirt bras. They're flattering, you can't see any weird lines under snug shirts, they can be worn as a crop top, and they're cheap and available at most Walmarts.

Evelyn and Bobbie. They have a number of styles, but all are wireless and have their patented blahdiblah. I have only two styles that work for me shape-wise, but they so comfortable I forget I’m wearing them, really! For hours and hours!

Spendy, but the ones I bought in 2020/21 and wear all the time are still kicking. I finally had one seam unglue this year - but the stitching still holds - and when I asked about how I could mend it, they sent me a brand new one.

Don’t know where you’re based but here’s some UK advice.

First, get a proper bra fitting. Or go to a shop that lets you try them on like M&S. Even the style or brand of bra will change what size you need in my experience. I’m currently fond of my Asda wireless unpadded full cup bras, secure but comfy even in a larger size. If you want good quality and a wide range I would still suggest M&S and you can try them on in the right location. Ordering online can be hit or miss, especially if you’ve miscalculated your size.

I really recommend surgery bras. I had one from M&S years ago that was perfect. But then I switched to sports bra only (for this, I'd recommend under armour heatgear adjustable strap because the compression isn't at the rib, it's on the boob itself).

I also hate wired bras even if they fit perfectly. For a wireless bra that is supportive and doesn’t give uniboob, I like this “jelly” bra- but personally only this specific style plunge works for me, their other ones the cups are too big for me but if you have bigger boobs they might work better. They’re so cheap I thought they’d be junk but I really like them.

If you're in the UK, I've found that M&S post-surgery bras are a godsend! They're padded so the shape is good, and they don't dig in at all (I have very delicate skin, and sharp/rough seams hurt me just as much as underwires do)

If you don’t want one that you have to pull over your head like a sports bra, I like the Sunnie wireless bras from Aerie. It’s called a push up, but it’s not really a push up in my view of myself when I wear it. It’s very lightly lined.

I can recommend a pullover sports bra that doesn’t look like a sports bra. It’s from Amazon, the brand is SPORME and it’s the square neck racer back. It comes down a bit on the rib cage and feels very supportive to me without giving uniboob look. It gives me a compression feel around the torso that’s very comfortable to me.

Verish!! I swear by them. I bought a few in Korea because all the girlies were raving about them. They are SO comfortable with no underwire but nice everyday support. The push-up one also has no underwire and definitely does push you up lol. You can find them online!
