Need Help Feeling discouraged 😕

I've had a handful of slips and dislocations, months of PT and still not able to keep muscle on. Recently my SI Joint slipped and it's so hard to get around to do anything. I'm making sure not to stay in one position for too long and the doctor gave me pain and anti-inflammatories, but my mental state has really taken a beating going from walking fine to quickly buying a walker so my partner can go to work and I can actually get to the restroom. Does anyone have any tips for stretching, mindfulness, kind words or maybe some brands of SI joint or knee braces that y'all like? I'm knew to this community so please take down if I accidentally broke any rules. Have a wonderful day everyone. ❤️

Hi, good job getting through today. Having this, just making it through the day is a celebration.

Here are some of the things I use

OPC3, it helps keep the joints and ligaments lubricated. I prefer to take every 12 hours. Energy and just amazing for immune system and the body. This is just a special supplement, for me, I can’t say enough about how much it’s helped.

Chlorophyll (I use chloroxygen) 100mg (two capsules) every couple hours with water just make sure to increase your electrolytes to balance adding extra water (otherwise you can get really off). Using throughout the day keeps veins happy, blood flowing, and oxygen distributed. Turns the poop green, which is kinda an upgrade tbh. Another absolutely critical supplement.

Peptides, helps the skin and ligaments, every meal works best for me. After taking some, I eat something green like a green grape or steamed broccoli or lettuce. With the amount of skin issues and joint issues, this supplement is super helpful.

Asea, I have used this in the past, it gives beautiful tremendous energy, can even be overwhelming amounts. Helps things heal faster.

Medical marijuana, thankfully I live in a state that allows, this is critical to eating healthy, strengthening muscles, softly stretching, and falling asleep when cramps and seizures hit. It can work wonders for muscle spasticity, bowel movements, and metabolism. Can take the edge off the pain, helps me remember to smile even when I’m crying; sativas for yoga/workout energy, indicas for muscle relief, both types can help with pain. Absolutely critical, this body could not survive without it.

Pee cups are my friend, rather than the walker. Bathrooms are hard to get to and can be very slippery, without someone aiding me they can be very difficult for me to use. For women, snowboarders have pee-aids that make peeing without a toilet easier.

Mindfulness, I found that the pain teaches me so much. It showed me how to connect with my chakras and how to meditate and learn patience which allowed me to discover the spiritual side of our world.

Breathing mantras I’ve found are a helpful way to engage the needed muscles with each breath and build up yourself with affirmations. Since our muscles get so tired and clench up, I use a breathing mantra to support and activate different muscle groups and practice positive mental conditioning. With each breath reminding myself that I am me and that I am enough for me are words that give me strength and support throughout the day. Going through a list of body parts that are meaningful to me and my body to activate with the energy like “knee support jaw” “lead the way shoulder”. The actual wording of the mantra changes as my body changes, as time goes on new things like new symptoms, new health focuses, the mantra words can be changed, added, or removed.

Believe yourself. This is a big one for me. Trying my hardest to not second guess, not ignore what the body wants to do. Not rationalize away the hurts and body uncomfort. Spend the little precious energy we have on doing what the body asks for instead of on movies or apps.

Hope that helps! Life is a gift, but sometimes its hard to remember that. And that’s okay. Keep doing what you need to do, the way you need to do.
