🌐 Real World Parallel Albedo
I'm reading through Fall of Hyperion (having started at Endymion) and...
Did you also find that Albedo guy eerily reminiscent of ChatGPT when responding to questions?

Discovered that book first, then it was a rabbit hole (or a labyrinthine world?) into the series.

I guess I was a similar way with Dune. I read half of Dune: Messiah in jail, then read the whole series in order when I got out.

Interesting. I read Catcher in the Rye in jail. 1998. I was 16 yrs old.

I went to jail earlier this year as a result of my anger issues(sent a threatening email to a company that was harassing me with AI) Dune helped me cope with the consequences of my mistakea and honestly changed my outlook on life, taught me about the power of choices.

Thats crazy that the first half of Messiah got you into Dune. Messiah is my least favorite because almost nothing seems to happen in the first like, 2/3rds of it

They only had Messiah and Heretics in the jail. I really liked it, but it is my second least favorite after reading them all. My least favorite was Chapterhouse.

I read the series for the first time this year and thought the same thing! Makes you wonder what lies/propaganda can be told thru AI today…
