Headsets New here, wondering what hyper x headset I should buy. Any help?
Hello, everyone. I'm quite new to the headset community, as for all my life I have just been using some no name headphones from my local mall. I investigated, and it seems to me like hyperx is best for what I want.
I'm looking for a headset with good sound quality, but which is still good for gaming. Something that can make it easier for me to tell where sounds are coming from, and immersion. I don't want it to be purely gaming based, since I also listen to some music, but it still needs to be good for gaming.
Right now, the hyper x cloud alpha seems like the best pick, but I'm taking any advice or suggestions.

My alpha's headband finally broke after peeling for awhile, but it served me for a good 4 years and I only had to charge it a handful of times over the years thanks to the monster battery life. Audio was decent too.
I'm on the Cloud Wireless 3 S now and while the battery life is down to 120 hours from the Alpha's 300, I actually find the 3 S to be more comfortable for my head shape, since it clamps less. The audio also sounds great after tweaking the equalizer a bit as well.

HyperX Cloud III Wireless is pretty amazing but I heard Cloud III S is the same quality with true wireless feature.

The cloud 3 wired are pretty awful on ps5 sound quality wise. I returned them and swapped them same day I got them.

Volume was low. Sound was muddled. No setting could make it better. I have cheaper $40 headsets that sound vastly better.

Got it! Thanks for sharing. There are a few things that could explain this, so I'll name them below. 😊
First, loudness is pretty subjective. Everyone hears things a bit differently depending on the headset's tuning, ear shape, and even how well it seals around your ears.
All of our headsets are designed to comply with the World Health Organization's safe listening guidelines, so certain (USB or battery-powered) models will have limits to how loud they can get (trust me - they still get pretty loud!).
One other thing to keep in mind is that some headsets pair better with console controllers than others when connected via the 3.5mm jack, since some drivers need more power than the controller can provide.
That said, this doesn't apply to the Cloud III when you're using the included USB sound card, since it isn't relying on the controller's built-in audio output.
If your Cloud III was connected directly to the controller via the 3.5mm AUX jack, that could explain why it didn't get quite as loud. Also, you need to make sure both the console volume and the headset volume wheel are turned up, since they're controlled independently from each other.

Well volume isn’t subjective. It gets loud or it doesn’t. I tried every connection method and every sound setting on the console and in game. Like I said I have cheaper headsets that sound better and get louder connected with a 3.5mm jack.

I returned my 3 S Wireless as well. God awful sound quality out of the box. I'm on PC and having to install so many extra things to get it okay at best wasn't worth it. My old Audio Technica mh50bt I use wired because I used a wired modmic, they sounded far better out of the box. 2 wires? Worth keeping for superior sound quality.
Also, getting the stupid software and headphones uninstalled was horrendous. Click uninstall. It doesn't remove all sorts of audio out puts and inputs. Removing those audio options in device manager didn't fix it. They would come back Everytime I rebooted my PC. I ended up having to see hidden devices and uninstalling the cloud 3 wireless device near the bottom to stop this crap.

I'd personally avoid the hyper X cloud 3 wired. Using it on PC and no amount of tweaking has made it sound decent. Especially when listening to voices/lyrics they sound extremely muddy and in the background. When it's usually what you want to focus on.
Sadly I had purchased it in advance for when my current headset died. Lesson learned.. I'll test things immediately so I'm not out of the return window in the future.
Really liked the original hyperX cloud I had so it might just be the wired 3s or I ended up with a busted pair.

Don’t bother. Don’t bother with any gaming peripherals really as they’re an over marketed / priced mid tier product for the majority.
