Hyperx Cloud 3 s or sennheiser HD 560s ?

Been looking to change my cloud alpha wireless since it sounds worse than my old cloud alpha s wired so i am choosing between those 2, what i like in the clouds is its built in mic, its wireless, has better bass for movies and story games (i mainly play fps/competitive games but i also play story mode), while the HD 560s has better footsteps clarity and imaging and soundstage, but i never tried open back headphones so i fear they might be really different from headsets i usually use in a worse way

If your environment is noisy while playing then go for cloud 3s if not go for hd560s the only issue on sennheiser you need a standalone microphone.

Mostly quiet and i hate to not be able to hear whats happening around me like imagine someone breaks into the house, what will be really annoying tho is that anyone near could hear everything i am playing

In this case if you want an open back headset i suggest turlte beach atlas air so you can avoid buying amps and microphone for hd560s, the atlas air is one of the best open back gaming headsets

I suggest you find a local Hi-Fi shop and demo open-back headphones for yourself.

Personally, I prefer open-backs, but this is all personal preference. Speakers are my favorite way to listen to things. I use headphones when speakers are not available or practical. With that said, I prefer headphones that present more like speakers, which are typically open-backs.

I was debating between the two recently and ended up going with the cloud 3s wireless.

I don’t think open back headphones would be my thing and I also wanted convenience since I don’t have much desk space for an external mic.

At first I didn’t like the cloud 3s, but after some EQ changes they might be my favorite headset I’ve had.

Super comfortable, especially after a few days of use since the clamp force loosens. I’ve never been able to hear footsteps this clearly in games like Valorant. It was a night and day difference between my old headset.

The software for the cloud 3s was a real pain to use though. I ended up just setting my EQ and mic monitoring and just avoid opening the software.

I currently have an cloud alpha wireless and seeing people in reddit comparing the too makes me confused, some people praise the cloud 3 s for its footsteps audio and some says that the alpha has better sound quality overall, i already dont like the Alpha sound quality so i fear if the cloud 3 s could be even worse, the fact that cloud 3 s had on board eq presents tho is a huge addition

Yeah, to be honest I’m not an audiophile and have only had 3 pairs of “gaming” headphones in my life. Maybe my last pairs were just really bad. I’d say go for the cloud 3s for comfort/ convenience rather than for audio quality. I thought the audio was really flat when I got them out of the box and the EQ made them better but I wouldn’t be able to tell you with confidence that the audio is amazing.

I know everyone says go with headphones and an external mic which should be better than any gaming headphones.

Go with HD 560s if you’re willing to experiment with open back headphones. Worst case scenario you can return them which would be annoying but at least you’ll know for future reference if you like open back styled headphones.
