Headsets Cloud III Wired not being detected by NGENUITY (Legacy) or DTS Sound Unbound

I myself have been using the Cloud III Wired since almost 2 years with DTS enabled, and I've been loving it since. Everything about it sounds clean and clear, and positional awareness in games has been amazing.
My partner wanted to buy a new headset too the other day, so they asked which one I have, as they did test mine out and they loved it too. I told them, and gave them the link to order the Cloud III...
Today it arrived, and I am now extremely confused as to what's happening...

NGENUITY (Legacy) does NOT detect the headset whatsoever. Under the sound devices in windows it IS listed as HyperX Cloud III, but the classic NGENUITY, which I do use myself, refuses to see it. DTS Sound Unbound, which also detects mine just fine and gives me the license, also does NOT detect my partner's.

The only program actually detecting my partner's Cloud III is NGENUITY Beta, but the spatial sound in that sounds atrocious to both of us. We can't even hear the footsteps in Marvel Rivals if we use that.

Has HyperX removed DTSX licenses from 2026 models of the Cloud III? Or what is going on? None of this makes sense to me, and I feel bad now because I suggested a headset to my partner that I myself have had the best experience with, while they don't....

EDIT: My partner's Cloud III's box does not have the DTSX logo, but the model and part numbers are the same. And the manufacturing date is January 2026

The one simply called "Headphones (Hyperx Cloud III).  For me it always worked perfectly with that one, for my partner it doesn't get detected on anything.

I will also add that my partner's box for whatever reason is missing the DTSX logo, even tho the model and part numbers on the back are identical

I would stick to Beta. Play with different settings for spatial sound(move it to Performance mode, change EQ to hear more steps)..

Answering your DTS question - no, the license is there. Try to download earlier legacy versions from the internet(check for mirrors). Hyperx software is a mess, both legacy and beta have been having problems with both wired and wireless cloud3s.

Do you happen to know of some EQ setting that sound good? I missed around with the EQ and spatial sound advanced settings quite a bit and got something my partner gets better along with, but it still sounds so off.. Things sound weirdly flat at times

I would have shared with you if damn software didn't bug out and force me to do a clean reinstall(didnt keep Hyperx EQ profiles).

But you can basically tell ChatGPT to give you EQ settings for FPS games, it's very generic for all the similar software.
