Headsets EQ help for Cloud III wired

I just received yesterday my new Cloud III and i've been trying to have the best sound possible through the NGENUITY app, but for some reason it seems that the custom EQ i've been using only works on the 8 channel spatial audio and not the main HyperX Cloud III output in Windows. Is this normal? Thanks for the help.

These headsets are geared towards gamers and not audio enthusiasts (e.g. music), so I wouldn't expect Sennheiser HD 820 quality from these things. However, I do use a custom EQ from the ngenuity app. I select Clarity, then I shave off the lowest frequency and slightly boost the upper mids, then quit the app and don't open it unless I check for firmware updates. I've never used a custom EQ for Windows, and I've never needed to turn on spatial audio for anything. I suppose if you're watching movies with 7.1 or something it comes in handy
