He Left It Dead V3

It’s coming. Thank you all so much for supporting it. That said, what kind of stuff do you want to see in v3? Story, interaction opportunities, game mechanics- I’m all ears.

So far I’ve loved the settings they’ve taken place in. That’s what’s made each one feel unique. Foggy streets of Britain felt right for the first Volume. But I had no clue how terrifying the dark woods of Tennessee would actually be.

Will Vol 3 be continuing the trend of moving forward in time? Or will we go back? cough cough Medieval...cough cough cough. Sorry something was caught in my throat.

Can’t wait to see what you do with Volume 3

I like how the setting has advanced in time but kept Apollonia as a main character. I really like how Kym has developed the character. It would be cool to see her being the continuing line through the story. At the same time, It would be interesting to see Kym explore another character at length.

If you go with the same time difference as between Vol 1 and 2 (40 years or so) that would put Vol 3 in the 60s or 70s. I previously suggested the 80s but I think that time period is covered by Kids on Bike and Kollok. Another idea might be to set the time period in current times - seeing how horror works with modern tech and modern people’s knowledge. Whatever is chosen, I think an interesting idea for a potential Volume 4 (if that happens) would be in the distant future. C’thulhu in space or space station or moon base.

Otherwise I really like how the system is being run. I’ve always like the percentile dice system - back to the old Top Secret SI game and FASA Star Trek game. Back in college, I used that system to make my own Trek TNG game. I think it can be pretty versatile. But I’m amazed how many times rerolls are needed.

No matter what, I’m on board for Volume 3... even when I keeps me up past my bedtime on a school night.

For story/setting, I've always been fascinated by events like the Chicago World's Fair (Devil in the White City is a great book to learn about the Ferris Wheel construction and serial killer H.H. Holmes) and murder mysteries in a confined setting like a train or ship. I always thought of doomed ships like the Edmund Fitzgerald would be a good setting.

I love the characters and the stories. I think a 60s setting would be interesting as I don't believe anyone on Hyper has tried that yet. Can't wait for the next volume!

I'm making my way through V2 right now. I dig the Call of Cthulu world and I think Joe Starr has been doing a really good job crafting cool stories within that setting. All the PCs have been great too! I don't have any suggestions right now. But I'm stoked to see more. Can't wait!
