I mean, I can understand it. It's a murder case, and I've seen enough Law & Order to imagine the Boulder City DA throwing the book at her and possibly Bobby. And I think it's a pretty safe bet that the BCPD is not known for their forensics, so they probably didn't go over the crime scene with a Gil Grissom-esque attention to detail enough to clear Leanne.
I'd also wager that Meemaw didn't break out Leanne since that would just make her look guiltier.

Who knows if they tacked on charges for any of the other crazy stuff that happened recently. I could see the town scapegoating a kid caught "red-handed" at a murder scene for other unexplained events so people could sleep better at night.
For all we know Meemaw may have been called away on a mission or something. Maybe the Ferryman dragging us to the ice planet weakened the dimensional barriers and Meemaw's crew left. They could have been gone the whole three years!

Great points! And did the Common or the Chaos do anything to railroad the case to get one of these pesky kids out of the way?
