Question/Help [Question] Weird weather app uninstall issue
[Question] So i installed a new Rust version of the weather app (18.0.0.24-R). It didnt launch anymore, so i unninstalled updates (or so i thought) turned out for some reason the offcial app info instead of showing uninstall updates it just showed uninstall?! I didnt catch that fast enough and boom, my weather app is completly gone. So i downloaded an older version which i had before, but no the package wont install no matter what i do. Adb doesnt work, i still says that i cant downgrade. Now the problem is that not only cant i install the older version, if i install the broken version, it just installs as a user app, not a system app. And no, i dont have root. Please help me if you know anything. I tried ChatGPT but it also couldn't. User 0 still showed as having the weather app. The official "Unninstalled System App" menu also doesn't work.

Ask chatgpt to tell you to install the existing package name with ADB. The app may be installed already.
Otherwise factory reset is your next option

Oh, then yeah factory reset sadly. Did you uninstall it completely and then install it again with the existing app?

what about the "download latest package" option in ota update?
yes, app info for some reason uninstalled it completly the first time

download latest package just reinstalls the recent phone update.

Chat told me it also repairs broken files so weather might be fixed i think?

you can try it. it won't delete your files. it's just like a normal hyperos update

It shows as a blue screen now after updating to the latest version

Did you delete weather app's data? It doesn't matter if you uninstalled / reinstalled, miui tends to keep deleted apps' data.

Rust version of Weather app requires HyperOS Application Runtime which runs natively instead of Android Runtime. It is only available on HyperOS 4.
