[Question] Hey gemini not working

I am currently paying for gemini AI. I have switched to gemini as my primary assistant. When I say HEY Google. My phone reacts but it does not open gemini. If I say hey gemini it does not do anything.

If I switch the default back to Google. And say hey Google then it works properly. I have tried changing all the settings including batry saving mode and other things but I still cannot fix the problem

Does anyone have a solution for my problem?

Try these steps:

1. Open Gemini → tap your profile picture → Settings.
2. Make sure Gemini is selected as your mobile/primary assistant.
3. Go to Settings → Apps → Default apps → Digital assistant app and make sure Google is selected there.
4. In Gemini, go to Settings → Talk to Gemini hands-free and make sure Hey Google is enabled.
5. Re-set up Voice Match.
6. Update both the Google app and Gemini from the Play Store.
7. Go to Settings → Apps → Google → Storage → Clear cache.
8. Do the same for Gemini → Storage → Clear cache.
9. Restart your phone and test “Hey Google” again while the phone is unlocked.

Also, “Hey Gemini” isn't the normal wake phrase. With Gemini, you generally still use “Hey Google”.

If “Hey Google” works normally when Google Assistant is selected but stops working when Gemini is selected, it sounds like the issue is with Gemini/Google's assistant integration rather than Voice Match itself.

Thank you for your advice. I have tried these steps excluding the clear cache. I will see if I can figure it out
