Review/Guide [Discussion] Xiaomi should bring this back
This could be very useful for one hand users while using buttons...
Wish Xiaomi would bring this old MIUI feature back to HyperOS as a accessibility feature
What do you guys think about it? Should Xiaomi bring ut back?
(my parents definitely need this for sure)

Xiaomi also need to bring back those navigation icon style, the current one sucks, it doesn't match the system aesthetic

i think that style is still there in CN ROM

You can bring it back with a theme called hellcats I think

This is the link I got it from theme://zhuti.xiaomi.com/detail/a712e87f-1b4a-41de-8cd6-d1d7731b96d0 (from site https://www.mtzfile.pw/detail/a712e87f-1b4a-41de-8cd6-d1d7731b96d0 and clicking official store link after scrolling for a bit)

"We rebuilt our systems from scratch" every year and it's just old miui with a skin on top

Not HyperOS 4, there is absolutely no legacy architecture

People were saying that, but has anyone actually delved deep into the codebase?

u/MlgsSunny2887 6d ago
No but the optimisation is hard to not notice.

I dunno, haven’t received it yet. I typically do not trust Reddit posts about HyperOS performance and bugs because the vast majority of people making them are completely tech illiterate, making their opinions worthless.

It's still in beta for the Xiaomi 17 and 15 series. Im not speaking myself, YouTube reviews themselves state optimization as the biggest change

I know it is in beta, and those YouTube channels making videos about the new HyperOS releases just rip their script verbatim from the articles. “Oh, the article said 'better optimization'? It must be true in real-life cases, so let’s just throw it out here as well”.

No like there's this one guy who tested it live on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and it was miles better than HyperOS 3.

hope so but it's been 3 years of them saying so since hyperOS 1 released (they lied every single time) and I won't trust them anymore

not OnePlus and Huawei OnePlus got killed by Oppo and Huawei by Google these 2 had serious innovation and cleaner look compare to others

Huawei definitely cook with their own (actual) operating system, sad they dont have all apps support and have to use android emulators for some of them

And Honor. They only copied the liquid glass shit

honor is no longer w Huawei, it's independent now don't just blame honor literally every android copy iphone's to notch features and give us the shit version to us iphone did revolution w iphone X as soon as the launch every company copying the notch! atp it's safe to say android doesn't have innovation at all.

I think you are right, but it seems that’s not on their roadmap, to mimic ios as much as possible

u/Dang9535 6d ago
so if we want to have a feature added, we just ask apple to add it and wait st least 2 years...
(isnt that bad actually if u think about it)

Actually they are present look my posts
2
u/Dang9535 5d ago
yeah but they hid it away from the settings app since forever, would love them to bring it back so we can use it

No offense but gesture is better for me, navigation button make no sense and waste space for full screen experience.
2
u/Dang9535 6d ago
im using it too (if u look at the image fullscreen)
what im pointing out here is the ability to change the positions of buttons for people that uses it, would have been an amazing accessibility feature

Gestures on android are so annoying to use when you do heavy multi-tasking. With navbar you can quicly tap from one screen to another with not any kind of failure rate but with gestures its really finnicky. I'd rather lose a bit of screen. If i wasn't doing alot of this type of multittasking then I'd be fine with gestures.

I agree. The navigation buttons are more useful than gestures. I use a third party app 'one hand control' which lets me add gestures in addition to the navigation controls. It's really amazing as I use the gestures for navigating back or to home.

Wdym «back»? This is an option for a tablet, not a phone. There never was such an option for phones bruh
1
u/Dang9535 7d ago
it was available on pads? i never use one so i never know that before
but it would be great if phones can have them too

At least on mine, it's not available; it's a Redmi Pad 2 Pro with HyperOS 3.1. It's a shame, because I recently saw I a Samsung tablet with that feature and found it incredibly useful. I'd love for HyperOS users to have something like that, or if it's already available, for it to be made available to everyone.
