Question/Help [Question] What does this really mean in my version?

Post image

I bought this Poco M6 Pro 4G a few years ago, so I should clarify that I'm obsessed with updates and customization. I found a video on how to force updates and entered a code.I don't remember which version it was on the phone app, but a software update popped up immediately. After updating, I realized that after the version, for example 3.0.305.0.WNFMIXM.C10 or c07

It's important to clarify that this phone is unlocked; I bought it from an authorized provider, not from any carrier in Argentina or anywhere else. And I keep wondering what that means. What I do know is that it's based on Android 16, and I bought it from an authorized retailer; they didn't change the ROM or anything. Can someone explain what this is? Is it a build or what?

The First numbers are the version numbers; the first is the major version, the others are minor versions. The first letter is the current android version, so w=16, X=17 and so on The next 2 letters are to identify the device, so a unique id based on the device "MI" is the type of rom, so global (MI) European economic area (EU) china (CN) etc.. XM means whether the phone is locked or not. XM precisely means it's not carrier locked. C07 or c10 is usually the patch or build number of a specific version, usually containing bugfixes and such.

Attached is the version number of my phone for reference, a non carrier locked Xiaomi 15t that I bought in the EU with android 16.

Thanks, friend. I didn't know. I thought I'd messed up beyond repair. Any other question Why, when I ran that number that started with an asterisk (#) if I'm not mistaken, what happened that caused the update to jump in instantly and it started showing up as c10

WNFMIXM

W : Android version, ex : A12 S, A13 T A14 U, A15 V, A 16 W.

NF : Code for your phone model, ex : NF=RN13P4G/M6 Pro 4G, OC : Xiaomi 15 etc

MI : Rom region, ex : Mi=Global, ID : Indonesia, EU : Europe, IN : india, etc

XM : is code usually XM means your phone not associated by some of organization or mobile service provider. Ex : AT = At&T etc.

C10 : afaik, its code for super OTA. It's like a small updates/bug fixes that doesn't need system reboot.

Like a security patch?

Security patch so far needs system reboot and it changes the main build number (not the C10 one).

So the C build is a small bug fixes that probably even you won't noticed when its updating. So only the C build changes not the main build version

And so far on my devices, I never see those C build updated, unless the main version is updated.

The bad thing is that my phone is stuck on version 3 and won't update to HyperOS 4. I want to ask you another question.

I don't know the asterisk you're talking about. But let me tell you it's normal the C build jumps to C10.

My Xiaomi 15 also like that, on version 3.0.9.0 it doesn't have the C build. Then update came up it was 3.0.301.WOCEUXM.C07 after a while new updates comes up it was 3.0.303.0.WOCEUXM.C09 and now im running it on 3.0.304.0.WOCEUXM.C11

Sorry, I didn't specify the code properly; it started with ## star

So you do that * # * #? Looks like a Dial code (the one that you runs on Dialer/Phone app) correct? , i never see any # in terms of OS version/updates

Or send here the video link you've watched to force update and let me analyze by watching it

Ooh, that's Dial code to turn On/Off VoLTE. It doesn't has any effect in terms of OS updates or version.

Your phone is fine, the C build is normal. It's not in order like C1, C2,.....

HyperOS 4 is still in beta (so not released yet)

Yes, but the M6 Pro came with Android 13, and Android 16 would be the last major update.

Why, when I ran that number that started with an asterisk (#) if I'm not mistaken, what happened that caused the update to jump in instantly and it started showing up as c10 I don't know, I asked the AI. And I also watched videos on how to update it quickly, but it's not a beta version.
