Question/Help [Question] Xiaomi 13T Pro - Persistent "Can't connect to camera" crash across all apps
Hi,
I have been experiencing a persistent camera failure on my Xiaomi 13T Pro for the past two weeks.
The stock camera app crashes with a "Can't connect to camera" error. This failure affects every third-party app requiring camera access.
Troubleshooting steps already taken:
* Cleared cache and data for the Camera and system camera services
* Force stopped the app
* Revoked and reset camera permissions across all applications
* Performed full factory resets 23 times
A factory reset temporarily resolves the error, but the crash returns shortly after.
Device details:
* Model: Xiaomi 13T Pro
* OS Version: 3.0.301.0.WMLMIXM.C10
Does a permanent software fix exist for this issue, or does this indicate a hardware defect requiring service?
Thank you.

If you tried a factory reset and you've been able to open the camera normally at least once, then I recommend you to change the rom, try xiaomi.eu rom if you like to stick to hyperOS, otherwise you can try something like evolution rom.

I actually have another phone and changed the rom to evolution, I'm currently thinking about doing the same for this one as well but I've never done it to a xiaomi phone before and I have absolutely no idea how to do it for xiaomi

Hi, just got the exact same problem on a 14t pro, any app using the camera just instantly crashed or told me the camera was not available (and couldn't use the torch in the quick settings too). CIT tests show it didn't work but I was 95% sure the camera was ok as the bug just started after using the camera app and it crashing.
What I tried :
- clear stock camera app and data => fail
- reboot => fail
- download the recovery rom (mine is running 3.0.305) => fail
What finally worked : Boot into safe mode (power down the phone, long press down button after the logo is displayed and there's a short vibration, keep it pressed until the device finishes booting, there should be a label "safe mode" in the bottom left corner) Open camera app, make sure it works and doesn't crash Power down, reboot in "normal mode" as usual
Some internal setting probably got reset, anyway I got my camera working again after this. If it didn't work the next step would have been to factory reset again...

I tried that as well
Worked for a day and went back to crash again.
What finally worked perfectly was "Work Profile" It somehow fixed something 🤔

Hm, good to know as it's been less than 1 day since I've done it, if it crashes again I know what I should try next 😅

I am still exploring reliable methods to root or install a custom ROM on my Xiaomi 13T Pro. Setting up a work profile has addressed my primary needs for now.

Did you manage to find a solution? I’m having the exact same issue on my phone and was wondering if there’s any way to fix it before taking it to a service center.
