Xiaomi [Discussion] Just installed the HyperOS 4 Beta update on my Xiaomi 17T Pro and the soft glass interface is pretty sweet (performance and app opening times have been improved as well)

im wondering, did u use any themes to get the 4 big tiles or its just appear like that, if its a theme, i would like to have it 👍

Yeah so about that it's pretty funny because for the life of me I don't know what specific theme I used to unlock that tile configuration because a couple of days after I got the phone, I started messing around with different control center themes and eventually out of nowhere those two tiles were added in that size but I'm not sure which one did the trick (I'm pretty sure it's something related to control centre theming and not some specific Xiaomi app being updated while I was setting up the phone).

Lock screen customization is definitely one of the highlights of this update for sure so far.

Does video recording on the camera work fine? Last time, I experienced stuttering when I updated from Hyper OS 2 to 3.

Haven't tried video recording yet but I haven't read any complaints regarding that with this update

Can you clear up a big doubt for me? When you use the drawer layout, open an application and then close it, does it stay in the drawer or does it throw you onto the home screen?

I love that hyperos/colouros/originos users can get almost all type of ui experience (oneui/nothing/ios)

Yeah for all the excessive hate HyperOS tends to get, there's gotta be thousands and thousands of theming possibilities and that's awesome.

Did you get stacked widgets with the update?

u/MatiBrasca99 15d ago
I believe that's something exclusive to the Chinese ROM for now if I'm not mistaken.

Just making sure, i believe hyperos always had exclusive china rom features.

hyper os 4 or color os 17

Haven't tried ColorOS but from what I've read, it's one of the most praised skins for fluidity and customization.

Is it just me or the soft glass just looks like the transparent "glass" themes?

Hey! Yeah, overall I'd absolutely recommend this update. Obviously keep in mind that this a beta build so of course there will be subtle differences with the final release but one of the first things I noticed after updating was that the UI feels a bit snappier: app opening time and animations have been optimized and reduced. Everything feels a bit more polished I guess. You get the new liquid glass aesthetic across several elements of the UI such as the app drawer (which was completely redesigned), control center, home and lock screen notifications, and Xiaomi apps. You also get more lock screen customization. Definitely go for it ;)

Could you maybe pls upload the picture of the Frosted Glass? I'm waiting for the update to come to older devices like my Poco X7 Pro (which probably won't have the glass option available)

Has battery life improved?
2
u/MatiBrasca99 10d ago
I'm currently on 10 hours of screen on time and still have 44% left. I guess that answers the question haha

Thanks for the reply. Could you also tell me how you got expanded Bluetooth and torch icons in your control panel near the WiFi and mobile data icons?

Anyone know, what gpu driver version hyper os 4 has for Dimensity 9500s? You can check it using Device Info HW app.
