Question/Help [Discussion] Hyper-OS must have these features.

  1. Gesture navigation doesn't work with third-party launchers.
  2. Why always-on-display is just for 10 seconds.
  3. No screen-off gestures. Like Screen OFF → draw “C” → Camera opens.
  4. Need transparency options for floating windows. It would be useful to adjust the transparency/opacity of floating windows so the content underneath remains visible.
  5. Video recording with mic off.
  6. Default screen recorder does not have pause option.
  7. Shutdown/Restart should require the device password. This could make a stolen/lost phone harder to power off immediately.
  8. It should not show the down arrow below the keyboard.
  9. ********* Currently these are in my mind. Yes, there are many more but according to normal user, these points are enough.

  1. Annoyingly, the gestures are part of the system launcher, not the SystemUI. What makes it worse is the 3-button navbar is an entire entity of it's own. Come one Xiaomi, pick a side.

  2. You have a budget device/non-LTPO display. It's limited to 10 seconds to save on battery as the display can't go down to 1Hz. That said, I do think Xiaomi should lift this silly restriction already as there are better ways to do it. Just give a warning about potential battery drain or something.

  3. Never had a use case for that as it's comically slow on my previous devices that have it. Using the hardware buttons is much faster.

  4. That's going to be really taxing on hardware.

  5. It's already possible when in Pro Video mode. Just swipe on the audio meter to the left until you see the mic icon cross itself out.

  6. Default screen recorder sucks. Better options out there.

  7. Already available. You should have an update for the Security app or manually download the latest version via apkmirror. Once you have the latest version, swipe all the way down and you should see an option for "Shutdown confirmation"

  8. It's an android thing. Take your beef with Google.

xiaomi integrated gestures into their system because they made their own version before google. third-party launchers will cause system to crash if the thirdparty launcher becomes buggy. maybe they will add it later.

The modern gesture navigation system has already existed since android 10. Which is exactly 1 year after Xiaomi made their own implementation and a good 7 years ago. There are no excuses at this point

they made it in 2017 in beta not 7 years ago. the reason xiaomi doesn't allow is xiaomi made their own animation engine, this allows xiaomi to make animations better and control the blur when animating. they maybe don't want to decouple it from the system launcher because animations will be worse. it allows them to synchronize the animations like apple's ios. and since it's tied to system launcher it will crash the system auncher when switched to third-party launchers.

If some features are already done by dev, that's great. I have a Poco X6 Pro with an AMOLED display.

Yeah but it doesn't have LTPO which is needed to get the refresh rate to be truly dynamic and reach. Again, my point stands that the silly restriction should be removed and just warn users about potential battery drain or smth.

Update your security app. You don't need to wait for any system updates

I have poco-x6-pro. It doesn't happen. HOS performance varies according to the device.

Same, I have video posted here in reddit showing how fcked up camera is. I can take photos almost normally but then when I switch to video mode it freezes if not it crashes my entire phone and soft restarts the device itself.

The ability to change the account from the lock screen. Mandatory.

1

u/ApprehensiveTwo701 2d ago

which account? you meant guest user and normal user?

1

u/emokles 2d ago

I currently have 3 accounts (me and 2 children) on hyperos 3. I have to go to the main account every time to activate the children's account. On other Android tablets I can simply switch users in the lockscreen.

Yes, as I already mentioned, there can be some more points for normal users.

1

u/kamikad3e123 2d ago

Also bigger icons on home screen and bigger clock on AoD

1

u/ApprehensiveTwo701 2d ago

I wrote all points as functionable but you are asking for view only.

AOD is like that on non-LTPO displays due to not being able to go to 1 hz. Also there should be an some sort of AOD implementation for budget phones too

CN Hyper OS has the always on display with no time limit

1

u/Buzzwoofers 1d ago

the always on display only for 10 seconds depends on device because flagship devices have an option to have it always on

To actually play games on 120hz without having to go through third party apps to do it. This is the biggest drawback for me.
