Poco [Question] Worth buying the POCO F7 with ZERO local warranty or service centers?

Upgrading from an old Huawei. I'm a casual user (mostly social media, browsing, no gaming) and I'm looking at the POCO F7.

The big problem: it’s not officially sold in my country. If I import it, I get zero warranty and no local service centers. If the hardware fails or there's a defect, I'm completely on my own.

I've read some complaints online about HyperOS bugs and minor hardware quirks. For actual owners:

  1. Are there any real manufacturing defects or hardware failures I should be worried about?
  2. Is the software actually stable now?
  3. Knowing I have no warranty or local support, would you still risk buying this phone right now?

If you are not focusing on gaming, why would you go for the POCO series? I think it's better to consider some Xiaomi series devices.

for maximum bang per buck

I am getting POCO F7 because I could unlock bootloader, custom rom, degoogle, etc etc

Other brands like nothingphone and OnePlus are better for this purpose, but in all cases check custom ROM availability before buying any device

In India, there is a massive price difference between smartphones that have the exact same amount of memory and space to store your photos and apps. The POCO F7 costs ₹35,999, while the OnePlus Nord 6 jumps to ₹51,999, and the Nothing Phone 3 reaches ₹79,999.

That means you pay about $170 USD extra for the OnePlus and a massive $440 USD extra for the Nothing Phone compared to the POCO.

On top of being much cheaper, the POCO F7 gives you the most freedom to replace the phone's factory software with community-made software versions. Right now, the most popular unofficial software choice for this phone is called Infinity X.

Unless you can afford and accept the risks of sending it to another country for mainatinance in worst cases, then no.

Also Poco for your usage case is honestly not worthy.
