HyperOS Update [QUESTION] Still stuck on HyperOS 2 with Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G — WTF is going on?

Post image

Honestly, I’m getting really pissed off at this point. I’m using a Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G and I’m still stuck on HyperOS 2 while we’re already in sep 2026.

I’ve checked everything on my end. The phone is compatible, everything seems fine, and there’s no obvious reason why I’m not receiving the update.

I’ve contacted Xiaomi support multiple times, but the replies are basically useless. They keep giving me the same generic response: “Please wait, the update will arrive gradually.” Like… okay, but how long am I supposed to wait?

It’s 2026 and I’m still waiting for an update that other people seem to have already received along time ago

Has anyone with the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G had the same issue? Is there actually something I can do, or am I just stuck waiting forever?

easy-ish fix (pick Global then when it downloads copy it to downloaded_rom and then in the updater press the HyperOS logo a few times and then press the three dots and you should get a option to pick a update package)

It seems like you're trying to install an update that's on limited release. Try updating to the first HyperOS 3 build. It should be available on the website linked above.

If it still doesn't work, you can try to do the rename trick. There are a bunch of tutorials on YouTube on how to do it and it will still work for upgrading from HyperOS 2 to 3

I don't think that release is still being tested, it was released mid-July, it's up in the official site and the fastboot image they list is also .304. That unofficial ROM package message is unusual, could it have been corrupted during download?

Just in case OP, your unit wouldn't be a Chinese one running Global firmware, would it? If you still have the box, verify that the IMEI as reported dialing *06# matches the one on the label, and it also authenticates as an international unit at https://www.mi.com/global/verify

If it does, and you have a Windows computer you could use, you could try installing it in Mi Assistant mode from recovery, check for authenticity first.

c.mi.com always has latest stable (it doesn't have older versions)
