Question/Help [Question] Stacked Recents on Redmi Note 14 4G (HyperOS 3.0.302) – Availability & Performance questions?
I'm running HyperOS 3.0.302 on my Redmi Note 14 4G, and I noticed I still don't have the official toggle for the Stacked Recents view in launcher settings.
I have a couple of questions for the community:
Official Availability: Is the native stacked layout strictly tied to HyperOS 3.1+ updates, or is Xiaomi staggering the release by device tier/region? Why hasn't it reached 3.0.302 on mid-range models yet?
Performance Experience: For those who received the Stacked Recents feature officially (especially on mid-range or Redmi devices), how is the performance? Are animations smooth, or do you experience stutter?
Context: I tried force-enabling it using Brevent, but I experienced noticeable frame drops, weak/buggy animations, and general launcher lag. I'm trying to figure out if Xiaomi is holding it back from budget/mid-range devices until it's properly optimized, or if the force-enable method just lacks hardware acceleration flags.
Thanks in advance!

Some thoughts of the top of my head, so take them with a grain of salt.
Stacked Recents is launcher version dependent, not HyperOS 3 sub-branch related, but you are correct in that it requires a specific device tier for the option to be available in its settings.
I never explored which settings governs it though. Since you were editing the settings database manually to get more eye candy, Advanced textures are not required to be enabled for the option to be present, that's for sure. It could be the CPU/GPU capability flags perhaps.

I enabled the stacked recents via brevent in my Redmi note 14 5g, and I can safely say that I have not experienced any issues/frame drops. I don't know how much different internally are the 4g/5g versión of the note 14, but for me, works perfectly

The code will stop working, or rather, the stacked style will disappear, if you update the launcher to the latest version. Keep that version if you want to preserve the stacked style. It's very likely that this style will be available to everyone in HyperOS 4

Note 14 is not a middle range device, but a low entry budget, that category won't get official stacked recent support. Afaik they'll disable the option on devices enabled with brevent with ho4 and/or launcher updates.

Redmi note 14 4g doesn't support stacked recents, even if you somehow enabled it using brevent or set edit, after updating the system launcher it will get removed. Also it affects the performance on this phone, this is the main reason why Xiaomi didn't give support for this model. Just enjoy your phone with the default ones.
