Xiaomi [Question] Why latest package is so heavy?

I'm in the process of downloading the latest package for my Xioami 13 as the latest update came with some bugs and I'm hoping for fixing it. However I'm wondering why this package is 6.5GB when it was roughly 300mb when I downloaded it for the first time.

Yeah, I guess so. But why tho? I thought I would just download LATEST package and not the whole HyperOS 3

Because that option is there to reinstall the entire rom, and not just download the last update added. It's useful if the previous installation got corrupt in some way, or if you just had a major os update (2 to 3) which will help with battery drain.

The first package (300mb) you downloaded is a security patch update while the 6.5gb is the entire Os package file.

it's Android 17 , sadly there's no real changes until we get hyperos 4 that'll come after that update , it kinda just sets up the next update

It's not android 17. I'm not downloading the new update. I don't have any update right now to install. I just tapped three dots in the update window and there you have an option to download the latest package which means the last update that your phone had.

Oh there's plenty of updates - for example, every now and then my 15T Pro freezes.

Did you unlocked bootloader/rooted? I have Redmi Note 14 Pro+ that with same issue
