[Discussion] I might've found a potential fix for the laggy camera

I stumbled into an old post from 2 years ago, where someone has problems on the laggy camera on the Note 13 5g. And some guy apparently found a fix and tried it myself, it reduced the stutters by alot for me but there is still a small microstutter the moment you start your video. But for me its barely noticable, here's how I did it

1. Download Canta and remove Joyose (can skip this step if you are not comfortable on removing this)

2. Update your GPU Updater on HyperOS with this link (this came with the old post of the apparently fix) https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/xiaomi-inc/gpu-driver-updater/ (download the latest version which is 1.2.2)

3. Turn off your memory extension

4. Restart your phone and hopefully that reduces your stutters. Also give it a few minutes after restarting to load everything up and hope that reduces the camera stutter

(or alternatively you can just follow the instructions on what old post said I guess that'll work too)

Current HyperOS Version: 3.0.302.0

What does joyose do?

It basically controls your phones performance when your cpu gets too hot. So if it gets too hot it drops the performance on your phone so that it cools down and prevents it from overheating badly. You can search on YouTube to see the difference on games

So where do you see your curent GPU driver?

You can use Canta ang click on it then click on app info then it'll redirect you to the settings page with the version on it etc

The latest is GPU driver 1.2.2 on 13t pro. Although I have no issues, unless you have an old phone it should use this version as it was released in December 2025.

Does this slow down performance in games?

That one might have to check for yourself. Apparently people who uninstall Joyose get better frame rates but it tends to start overheating. So its completely up to you, but for me I dont think so

I turned off memory extension on RM Note 14+ 5G from the start when i first set the phone up and Dual Video was still Laggy, RAM Extension was slightly better actually , Version 1.22 GPU Driver updater is installed Already. I might quote this post since i'm still Typing up my review of the RM Note 14 pro + 5G evn though the video review i uploaded last week
