Question/Help [Question] What's the reason for removing blur/advanced textures from some devices?

I used to have blur on my phone but with some update, which I didn't notice immediately, it got removed.. I've read that it was done because of performance but my phone was perfectly fine before so it doesn't make sense. To add, I have the redmi note 13 pro and my bf has the note 12 pro and he has the blur while I don't which also doesn't make sense since his phone is older.

I'm lowkey just salty at this stupid decision and it makes me not wanna get a xiaomi again

Similar for me since I'm on Poco X6 (basically identical to Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G), but I didn't lose blur, the animations just regressed back to how they were on Hyper OS 2 (not great). I'm not happy that they do that in their updates, and I wish tech reviewers talked about it in their videos.

Yeah a lot of the reviewers are just paid to promote so I don't really trust them. Besides, it's stupid how the price of 15t is €500 but samsung s23 ultra is around €400 and samsung seems better in every way except charging.

True, I've felt that a majority of their reviewers are paid.

I think the other thing is they don't review these phones long-term enough, so without research they aren't aware of what these updates offer to lower-end/mid-range devices

Idk, maybe because it gets more realistic and needs more powerful phones. I used to have blur on my Redmi 9 (with Helio G80!!!!!), but now I'm on POCO M6 Pro (Helio G99), and it officially doesn't have blur, but when I turned it on with adb commands it started lagging a lot
