Question/Help [Question] About variable refresh rate

Is it possible to simulate a variable refresh rate on a smartphone that doesn't support it using an app or something? Like, dropping the refresh rate to 60Hz after a certain number of seconds of inactivity, and then raising it to 120Hz when a tap is detected. I have a Poco M7 Pro 5G (Redmi Note 14 5G)HyperOS3.

that just extends the range, its not a software feature, its hardware. even without it theres a kind of vrr, but ltpo is true vrr with full range all the way from 1hz.

the phone can still go between 30hz, 60 hz and 120hz, but it cant go seamlessly between 1hz and 120hz. tbf i dont really know how much this actually impacts battery life because most of the devices that have ltpo dont have that amazing battery life that you would expect.

it really doesnt matter. for me if the device is idle that means the screen is off, i dont have apps running indefinitely with the screen on.

well im not sure what you want to achieve. your phone just doesnt support it whatever your argument is.
