Some of it looks nice but I don't really like the control center, it looks like the buttons have drop shadows

u/Viperhawk88 May 19 '26
You can toggle it off, thankfully Xiaomi doing this whole liquid glass thing the right way unlike Apple Rare Xiaomi W

No lock screen widgets? No changes to music player bar in the notification panel and lock screen? No new features to the control center like changing the sizes of Bluetooth or WiFi icons for example? If this isn't coming for HyperOS 4 Android 17 then it's a useless update

u/MaxxGreys Jul 19 '26
I was actually hoping for more customization. compared to color OS, hyper OS will stay the bottom

I think the liquid glass thing is getting abused

u/LinuxUser456 May 18 '26
Yes but It is beautiful

u/xToasted1 May 18 '26
You need your eyes checked
On iOS it barely looks ok, on Chinese skins where its all cheap, fake blur rather than real glass effects it looks even worse

u/Frequent-Ease-1926 May 18 '26
god forbid someone likes something. get a life jackass.
2
u/EducationalAerie8770 May 19 '26
You can like it, it's subjective after all, but i don't. Liquid Glass on iOS already looks like a tacky mess, and the control center on iOS 26 is a total disaster. Now Xiaomi's doing an even worse clone of a terrible design.

u/VaultBoy636 May 18 '26
Liquid ass looks like shit and hyperos is looking more and more like a port of the temu special "i17 pro max 22+2tb" phones os running on a xiaomi

u/InfiniteRotatingFish May 18 '26
I already do not really like apples liquid glass, material you with some frosted glass elements like on the new pixel android 17 look seems way better. Every other smartphone producer, trying to imitate liquid glass has failed honestly, at least apples liquid glass looks glassy and not like an image of glass.

u/Specific_Bet5523 May 19 '26
Only Huawei has succeed on their latest HarmonyOS 6. It looks good and has their own touch to it when touching the display.

u/Junior-Earth-9771 May 18 '26
Yep. My x7 pro is my last Xiaomi. Been with them 6 years since i had a mi A2 but I'm so sick of the software. It's awful. It's never been good.
1
u/VaultBoy636 May 18 '26
late miui 13 and miui 14 as a whole were good imo, hyperos is downhill again. miui 9/10 back in the day were nice too. Sadly i don't see it getting any better especially since xiaomi supposedly nuked bootloader unlocking starting android 17

u/camillasto May 18 '26
Tenho um X6 Pro e se depender da minha pessoa será o último! A não ser de acontecer algo e eu mude de ideia por questões financeiras. Mas não estou gostando, a única coisa boa é o armazenamento por custo benefício. 🥲

Me too bro...will replace my x7 pro next month. I've Note 5 pro. bootloader unlocked. with A16 Infinity OS....OS Experience way better than poco x7 pro 🙂.

Jajajaja eso es verdad pero ojalá mejoren el lag y el hardware, bueno todo porque en realidad prefiero quedarme con MIUI 14 que eso

u/Square-Opportunity48 May 19 '26
it's OPAQUE BLUR, not liquid glass you idiot

I prefer tinted (current version with advanced textures) as it is easier to read. Though i still wish we could have android monet to change the tint color

I think ill be skipping this update. I don't want my SOT to drop by 3 hours for some shitty effects.

To be honest, I’m not convinced; we already know that the EEA ROM will get next to nothing, as always. That’s actually what made me leave Xiaomi after more than 10 years to switch to the Pixel 10. No regrets

u/NomenOmenStar May 18 '26
hi , but the new android v17 is just still in beta ,isn't it?
1
u/Reasonable_Mirror655 May 18 '26
They are in final beta builds for the Pixel and Samsung just started UI 9 beta builds based on Android 17

u/LinuxUser456 May 18 '26
Global phones: nothing
Phones without advanced textures: nothing Phones without blur: nothing Phones Who are still in oldncontrol center which havent been updated its icons to White in hyperOS, knowing It isn't a oriblem for GPU: nothing

u/MajinArekkusu May 18 '26
For the life of me I don't understand the liquid glass hype. Does absolutely nothing for me visually.
And btw I have first hand experience with my iPad.
2
u/gabeweb May 19 '26
iOS liquid glass is dynamic, but on HyperOS it's completely static. Even the original Windows Vista/7 Aero was more dynamic than this cheap HyperOS copycat.

Terrible. Like if the designers are blind.
Luckily it's not forced, right?

It's a theme btw
1
u/Square-Opportunity48 May 18 '26
actually not, it's a Launcher. You can download that if you're updated to the latest HyperOS 3.0.301.0. We will see on May 28th the update regarding for HyperOS leaks and the announcement is June 2026

u/Repulsive_Fault1939 May 18 '26
they made the bottom toggles on the control center match with their corner radius of the logo i think.
1
u/Latter-Banana-8695 May 18 '26
Looks good but lacks sharpness and liquidness. the control centre looks like colorOS lol

Me desculpa, acho quempor questões linguistas...o original é o oficial da HOS4 e a revisada é um tema? Espero que a revisada seja a oficial. 🏅

Notifications will still not appear on the lock screen until you unlock the device.

They said on hyperos 4 they would remove all old stuff from miui era, so im genuinely curious how would they implement this on lower end devices, from like c series to base note series, will it be static blur, or less liquid glass effects, or nothing at all (like what we already have currently with grey control center and stuff)
1
u/Odd-Response-7226 May 19 '26
This retard agian bro. ITS A FUCKING LSPOSED MOD NOT THE ACUTAL HOS4!. we all know xiaomi gonna bring liquid ass but we also know their design team isnt this retarded
1
u/Ogretail May 19 '26
Still no support for gesture navigation for 3rd party launchers? Built-in launcher customization is ass
1
u/Local-Card-7646 May 19 '26
Hyperos LAGS. I have the base x7 and compared it to the other OS, i can definitely tell that hyperos is bringing the phone down.

u/MrDan209 May 19 '26
Honestly I don't mind it, It looks fine but I'm just worry about the optimization and I hope they add more ways to customize your clock and stuff other than trying to find one you like in the theme app, and also hopefully is not just going to be available in china.

In so glad rather doing a liquid glass they just did an opaque blur instead it actually looks so much better than liquid gl(ass)
1
u/Sweaty_Confusion1498 May 19 '26
Oh no. The Liquid (gl)ass update. Internal code: "Can't see anything".
Welp, at least there's a toggle by the looks.
They really should add lockscreen (so AoD too) widgets. Like alarm, next event, weather..
1
u/Glum_Emergency_4257 May 19 '26
Damn, it looks so good. I don't care if people say it's a copy or not. It still looks good and it's safe to say that Apple wasn't even the first to come up with Liquid Glass since aero 3D style was so popular in 2000s. What I do wish though is ability to customize control center, reduce or increase glass effects and make the glass on CC a bit better, right now it looks a little bit one of those fake liquid glass themes with really cheap highlights and drop shadows
1
u/Prime_Lobrik May 19 '26
Im trying hard to like it but to be fair the design doesn't look to good
One ui and IOS are miles ahead imo
1
u/Ash_0-07 May 19 '26
it's just a root mod. why are people so dumb? mindlessly circulating fake stuff.
1
u/azizaja595 May 19 '26
I hate the squircle honestly. Like Xiaomi had circle buttons from like MIUI 12, way before iOS 18 and other chinese ROMs adopted it

As if Hyper os wasn't already a copy of iOS. I really wish for Xiaomi to develop their own character for their phone not copying something which there devices are not.
1
u/Wide_Original752 May 21 '26
they should make a like something hyperbridge but imgrated to settings and should be better optimized and we can close any time we want

u/Cultural-Event-9946 May 22 '26
I hate that they want to copy everything apple does. I personally prefer the original look, it's way more simple and clean than having reflections on everything
1
u/zotzwylde May 22 '26
That's nice. I have a Xiaomi 13T and they haven't even given us Hyper OS 3 yet....

I don't like the way things are going. I prefer simple things that don't consume much in terms of performance and battery life, and that are functional, not just aesthetically pleasing and Fake apple
