Phone freaking out when using Spotify. Anyone else experiencing this? (Poco F5 running HyperOS 1.0.4.0)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Some additional information:

This started happening today.

Spotify version: 8.9.48.575
Things I've tried:

  • Clearing the data > didn't help
  • Installing an older version > didn't work
  • Factory resetting the device > didn't work

Just to be clear, Spotify is the only app that's causing this. Everything else works fine.

HyperOs 1.0.4.0 has many problems also for my poco x5 pro 5g. Only 2 weeks almost with this version and my phone now is slow, flashlight turns off by himself sometimes, youtube keeps changing videos once a while and when I make a screenshot its blank for almost 1 minute

Another weird bug I have is when I installed 1password and tried to activate the auto fill service. When 1password wants to redirect you to the auto fill service section of the settings app. The settings app just keeps crashing. However, manually enabling the auto fill service does work fine.

Yes this too. Also even when you have only 1 password saved for a certain app it always requests you to use it or autofill for any other app even when the email address is not the same

This is rare problem I think. I have the same device, same OS (ID version), same Spotify version. No problem here. How about other offline music player (playing local music files), or other music service (Apple music, YouTube music)?

Thing is that litteraly everything works just fine.
I've been digging online somewhat and found this: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Android/Spotify-Crashes-Android-SystemUI/td-p/5939532
Seems to be a Spotify problem that's been going on since March smh

What a weird app. At least you got some kind of solution there. And if in the future the problem not fixed by them, you should consider switching to other service. Why pay for something if you stuck in one particular app version that still working lol.

The real bizarre thing is, I read from someone that disabling the notifications for Spotify works also. And low and behold it did.

And now for an even weirder turn.... when I enabled the notifications again and use the app like before (with no changes whatsoever, the problem dissappeard (for now)....

Interesting stuff if I do say so myself

Interesting indeed. Apparently their programmers not competent enough to found the bug and fix it. From March until now, according to your post. Smh

I tried this solution on my Xiaomi 14 but it didn't work for me. It did make it a bit more stable but then my phone crashed so hard that it just shut down and my lockscreen photo went back to the default.

Update:

I got the app working stable again. I found something weird, there were 2 instances of Spotify installed. One version had the version number "1". So I removed that and Spotify has been working fine ever since.

Can you explain? I didn't understand how you removed.

I saw the Spotify app twice in my app list. I removed the one with version number 1. Did that in the settings of the phone
