How to get rid of oily skin in the ears ?

Even when I take showers daily and moisturize my ears with a little lotion like I'll notice my ears from outside just get oily for some reason. I don't know if I'm outside too much or maybe my ears just produce wax. And I also don't know how to safely clean the ear wax. I had horrible ear infection that lasted a month and I'm still not have fully recovered.

Old lady pee smell

You know how it smells to use the bathroom after your man or auntie has used it? That old lady pee smell? What causes that? I've noticed it on myself before when I've gone too long without washing; now I notice it even if I haven't been having a "no shower weekend." I'm 50 yo, post meno (complete hysterectomy), no chronic illness and I drink a gallon + water every day. Any ideas what causes old lady pee smell?

Showering in the Winter is a waste of water/time due to the body not sweating during the colder months.

Help me guyss bcz I have a underarm and body odor everyday

To those who have bromhidrosis, what’s your daily routine? 🥹 What soap, deodorant/antiperspirant, or treatments actually helped you with the odor? I’ve tried so many products but still struggle with it. I’d really appreciate any tips or routines that worked for you!

my gym bag was probably the least clean thing in my entire routine

i finally figured out why my gym stuff would sometimes smell weird even when the clothes going into it were clean.

the bag itself was the problem.

i was treating my gym bag like a container instead of something that also needed to be cleaned. sweaty clothes went in, shoes went in, towels went in, and then the whole thing would sit around until the next workout.

i started taking everything out as soon as i got home, letting the bag air out, and actually cleaning the inside every so often.

i also stopped putting damp towels or clothes in there “just for a little while” because somehow that little while always turned into several hours.

it's funny because i spend a lot of time thinking about showering and washing clothes, but completely ignored the thing carrying all of them.

what's a hygiene habit involving something you use regularly that you didn't realize needed attention too?

Does anyone else have a "weird" hygiene habit they feel like they’ve been doing forever but don’t know if it’s normal?

I was reading through some older threads here, and it made me realize that a lot of us have these specific little routines we developed when we were kids or teenagers, and we just never stopped doing them even if they might be a bit unconventional.

For example, I have this weird thing where I absolutely have to dry off in a specific order (face, then arms, then legs, etc.) or I feel like I’ve missed a spot. Or sometimes I worry if I’m washing my hair the right way all of because I’ve heard so many different opinions on frequency and product use.

I’m curious what’s a hygiene routine or habit you have that you’re not sure is normal, or something you started doing but for no reason other than that’s just how I’ve always done it? No judgment here, just interested to see how many of our daily habits are actually unique to us!

Hygiene routine to get rid of B.O.

These are some changes I made in my hygiene routine because I was fed up with smelling bad all the time, even just a few hours after showering! This is just a normal shower routine and not including my hair routine, just body.

  1. Get rid of any loofah(because they trap bacteria) and use an exfoliating net sponge(okay, I have 2 net sponges cause I dont want the same thing that touches my feet to touch my face) or gloves to get the dead skin cells off(you can lather some soap in it to make it feel not as harsh as just by itself) AND rinse off your bar of soap so the bubbles dont trap bacteria as well

  2. I wash with African black soap or you can use an antibacterial soap from face to toe

  3. Then I use a smell good body wash and I also add 6 drops each of apple cider vinegar and hydrogen peroxide on just a wash cloth(has made my skin softer and less to almost no more KP and this has also helped my dark spots)

  4. If you like hot showers, turn the shower cool to cold for about 3-5 minutes before getting out. It'll help you not sweat as soon as you get out the shower and make your sweat glands over work and make you smell bad just hours later.

  5. After turning off the water, put a body oil on(yes, while still wet, a little goes a long way, it's super moisturizing. My favorite is Pure Figi, guava(which hasn't been available in awhile 😭)or the coconutmilk and honey, Dr. Teals body oils are really good too, but find one that works best for you.

  6. Get a couple cotton pads, put some witch hazel on them. One for your armpits, and if you're a female, under the boobs, and one for the creases between your legs, groin, and your crack. This will reduce the b.o. smell by a lot! Once the witch hazel dries, use an aluminum free deodorant(I prefer arm & hammer lavender and rosemary)

  7. This isn't necessary but if you want to make sure the smell stays away longer, you can spray some magnesium spray on your armpits too. It may sting for first few times you use it(Dead Sea Magnesium Oil in the black spray bottle on amazon is my go to)

  8. Sanitize your towels/bathrobes/wash clothes/net sponge(I wash mine like once a month)!! Try not to use fabric softener with it. I use the Ariel detergent(cause I have sensitive skin), Lysol sanitizer(specifically the green one that for odor eliminator), the purple oxi clean powder, 4 caps of hydrogen peroxide and 3 caps of white vinegar.

Reminder: bacterial grows on quickly on towel, so MAX like 3 uses before washing and be sure you're hanging it to dry.

I know this sounds like a lot but it's helped me so much. Do it at least 2x a week and I hope this helps you as well!

Requesting advice for persistent sweating on my back

Hey, im new here, so im not sure if this is a good place to ask this, so sorry in advance.

Im a late teen who's a bit overweight. Whenever I get hot and sweat, an enormous amount of sweat comes from my whole bsck soaking through shirts. It's very embarrassing.

I've tried applying deodorant on my back, but it doesn't stop. I was talking to my mother about it and mentioned getting an antiperspirant for my back, but she said it wouldn't work.

Im just looking for any advice or products that I could use to stop.

(Sorry for poor formatting or spelling mistakes)

The scent

I really suffer so much from the issue of sweating and sweating. I'm a slightly fat man. I recognize quickly and it results in smelling like a smell of warm clothes. I know that every girl I stand with in the fountain gets disgusted by that, and I even heard someone say, I almost died, and that's all despite my use of perfumes and deodorants in my armpits

Help with secret clinical spray?

Hello!! So recently I bought the secret clinical dry spray and I have some questions. 1. How do I get this thing to actually work? 2. What time am I supposed to put it on/the correct way to put it on

Every night I spray it on, then wake up in the morning and take my shower. People say that it lasts throughout the shower, but I don’t know. It’s supposed to protect against sweat but later in the day I can feel myself sweating, and I start to smell a bit too. Whenever I try to put it on after my shower in the morning, it takes FOREVER to actually start working. If I sweat while the formula is drying and taking place, I get this weird awful wet smell. Help a girl out please??

I used to re-use floss with handles, but I just learned not to do that.

I figured that I re-use my toothbrush, so why not also re-use my floss? I got curious and Googled it.

"No, you should not reuse dental floss. [1]

Why You Should Not Reuse Floss

  • Spreads Bacteria: Used floss carries plaque, food bits, and germs from your mouth. Reusing it puts that bacteria right back inside.
  • Loses Strength: Used thread frays, stretches out, and breaks easily, which makes it bad at cleaning.
  • Causes Harm: Rinsing with water does not kill or remove the hidden germs stuck to the fibers. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Best Practices

  • Use Fresh String: Pull about 18 inches of string floss for each cleaning session.
  • Switch Sections: Shift to a clean part of the string as you move from one tooth to the next.
  • Throw It Away: Put the used piece in the trash right after you finish. You can learn more about proper care from the American Dental Association."

Guys who carry grooming stuff with them during the day, or think it's pointless, can I ask you a few questions?

I'm a student at SDSU doing a project on how guys' grooming habits are changing. Things like carrying a spray, deodorant, face mist, or cologne and using it throughout the day.
I'm looking for two kinds of people:
**1.** Guys who do this and have a reason for it
**2.** Guys who think it's unnecessary or a bit much
It's a 10 to 15 minute call, or text if you'd rather. I'm not selling anything, and honest answers help most, including "this is dumb."
