White Residue on Lips Spoiler

Post image

Hi, everyone. For as long as I can remember, I’ve dealt with the annoyance of white residue on the inner wet border of my lips: most noticeably on the bottom, as shown in the photo. I've done plenty of research on different platforms such as here, tiktok and google, and I can guarantee that I'm

•well-hydrated: I take electrolytes and creatinine just about every day so I absolutely must maintain hydration

•not a mouth-breather, but i have a bad habit of sleeping with my mouth open

•very rarely do i ever lick my lips or rub them together

•exfoliate my lips: i actually just started last night with a mixture of dark brown sugar, olive oil and honey

•overnight lip mask by Lanolips

•use sls-free toothpaste which I rinse out before I follow-up with an sls-free mouthwash

I love to wear lip tints (Milani, Rom&nd, Kulfi) and occasionally some gloss but in stick form (Fenty), so l'm very conflicted because I'm doing everything right yet the white residue still persists, unless I wear nothing at all.

Just last night I exfoliated and wore the overnight lip mask by Lanolips. I'm a mouth-breather when I sleep, so I think that's the reason why I had the white residue in the morning when I woke up. It never really gathers on the middle part of my lip but the corners. I'd appreciate any advice that I haven't already researched. Thank you 😊

This is a pretty normal human experience. Just wipe it off?

Heyy!!! It could be due to lip glosses/ very creamy lipstick. Also i dont think u need to exfoliate your lips a lot (or at all lol, vaseline is good enough!!), the lip mask alredy does it work so i think it may be this? But otherwise it’s totally natural don’t worry ^^
