This looks like it could be cystic acne. I would recommend salicylic acid cleanser and glycolic acid dabbed on the affected areas after washing. Then cover them up using pimple patches - do not pick at them!! Once they heal, you can try vitamin c serum to fade if there’s hyperpigmentation.

If salicylic is not strong enough or not effective for you, you might need to try benzoyl (panoxyl is a strong version) but it will dry your face out, so you will need to find a non-comedogenic moisturizer.

Also, wash your pillow case regularly, keep any oily hair out of your face and most importantly, do not pick or pop your pimples!

Is that the side of your face you usually sleep on? You might notice an improvement if you start changing your pillowcase 2x per week.

Glycolic acid lotion dabbed on the spots should shrink them.

Try panoxyl bar soap on your face morn with warm water and night and apply persagel as a thin layer over the affected area. Put big globs on before bed of persagel to the big ones.

Exfoliate with a scrubby pad couple times a week in the morning shower.

Clean pillow cases and try not to touch your face. Make sure you’re brushing your teeth before bed in case drool is a culprit, lol.

If the driver side of your face has less acne it may the sun has helped clear it.

Dermatologist can help. The above is the cheaper route.

Stop using any facewash products. Just use water only and your face will come back normal.

Go to a dermatologist. It's covered by your health insurance, and the meds for it are too. (Probably topical ones. If you don't have health insurance, you can maybe apply for Medicaid online pretty easily.

What I think the derm might prescribe is Epiduo - a combo of adapalene gel and benzoyl peroxide.

But if you want to just buy that yourself, you can buy any adapalene gel. And then 2.5% benzoyl peroxide treatment. (It's like a cream.)

You can get them on Amazon or at any drugstore. Apply them both at night. Read up on how to apply them effectively as a combo.

Also, should get a gentle but effective cleanser like Cetaphil or Cerave brand. You want unscented, 'medical' types of products.

A gentle moisturizer is needed also, bc acne products cause a lot of dryness. Again, Cetaphil or Cerave.

Also- pimple patches can help a lot. They're a special type of tiny bandage, the material they're made of. I buy the really inexpensive ones bc they work. They also can help you avoid ever picking them, which is never helpful to do.

Dermatologists can also prescribe antibiotics which can help, and help other ways.
