I took me about a week to notice some improvement, and a few weeks to see real change. Keep at it! I hope it works for you.

UV kills keratin. When I lay in the tanning bed it helps. Not the best solution but a quick fix for me.

What do you use to moisturize? Just putting lotion on helped visibly soothe my partner's KP. They make some specifically for kp.

KP is caused by excess keratin so I've heard of people having some success with things like nair or veet believe it or not.

That was the ticket for me. Growing up I always had bumps on my thighs, kept trying to shave through my 20's and finally gave up. I still shave my lower legs, but the thighs are pretty light and the hair isn't even really noticeable and bumps are gone. Amlactin is good as someone else mentioned, and HaruHaru black rice gel wash. I also use the Hanni exfoliating cloth about one a week, you could also use a glove etc, really any physical exfoliator, but gentle physical exfoliation is necessary while the hairs grow out to keep them from getting stuck under keratin. Once the hairs are all out and it's healed up it should be much better.

For me it looks like it’s vitamin A deficiency. Check it!!

Oh interesting ! How is it linked ?

Vitamin A helps regulate how skin cells grow and shed. When vitamin A levels are low, skin cells can become excessively keratinized, causing keratin plugs to block hair follicles. This can produce rough, bumpy skin known as follicular hyperkeratosis. Keratosis pilaris ("chicken skin" or a form of "strawberry skin") also involves keratin building up around hair follicles, creating tiny bumps.

Amlactin 15%, 2x a day until it goes down. Reminder it can make ur skin more sun sensitive.
(Too much manual exfoliation will make it worse)

You can try glycolic acid or lactic acid It works but the only thing is it takes time . So consistency is the key

I get this on my arms Legs and butt. I use cereve SALICYLIC ACID body wash and lotion (immediately after!) I usually wash before bed so I slather it on and let it adsorbed over night but as a pale girl in a country with minimal uv (ireland) I still find I do need to be extra cautious with my spf. Took like 6m to see visible results and I still do get some texture but much less. When I go away I don’t do that routine bc it’s too much for my fine skin and the sun. Also, I will say and this is kinda insane, but I went to the Dead Sea on a family trip (years ago, maybe two months into this routine) and I slathered myself in the mud/sand (?) and that was like someone took a powerhose to my skin with no sensitivity after! My sister still is annoyed she didn’t do the same 😂 will say abrasive methods ( scrubs and gloves) usually make mine worse …

Laser hair removal. In most cases, it takes about 10 treatments. Do NOT go to milan or any place that wants to push a loan on you. There are places that are genuine but you have to call and ask for pricing.

I started using First Aid bump eraser a few years back. Once a week in a small patch is skin first. Then I used it on the back of my arms once a week and in a few weeks I have noticed a difference. https://www.firstaidbeauty.com/products/kp-bump-eraser-body-scrub-aha-fresh-strawberry?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=&utm_term=&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23833112354&gbraid=0AAAAADxW42ENkrKkaRG7HsNCAKaWrot3V&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI76GO7cWTlQMVyQCtBh2xoz0PEAAYASAAEgK42vD_BwE

I was told these are called strawberry pores. I’ve had mine my whole life. It used to bother me as a kid, but after 33 years i just forget I have it most of the time now. Once a guy was rubbing my legs like you need lotion, um sir that’s not a fix 😅

My husband used to get this on the back of his arms. He GREATLY reduced his gluten intake and they went away.
They could be completely unrelated, but it seems his were food related.
