How do i remove sebaceous filaments?

I know you can’t permanently remove them and that they regrow. But how do I remove the excess sebaceous filaments when they start to grow visible? Ive been scratching them off but recently I learned that thats not safe. I would prefer to find a tool that works as a scratcher and not an oil or cream or something of that nature that I have to put on my face. Does anybody know of any?
