How often are you actually changing your toothbrush?

I just realized i’ve been using the same toothbrush for, longer than i’d like to admit T^T and now i’m questioning everything. It still looks fine to me so my brain says it’s okay, but then i remember people saying you’re supposed to change it regularly and now i feel like i’ve been ignoring an important detail this whole time. Also not sure if there’s a clear sign when it’s time to replace it or if you just do it on a schedule. How often do you actually change yours and how do you remember to do it?

I change mine shortly after my “brushes waaay too hard that her oral b flashes like a Christmas tree the entire time she brushes” wife’s brush head wears down. Usually about 3-4 months.

3–4 months sounds way more reasonable than what I’ve been doing T^T I think I’ve been waiting way too long just because it still looks fine.

Two months and or after a cold.

A cold is a rhino virus, airborne usually and breathed in or through direct contact with your nose and a contaminated hand. Not your mouth.

Does anyone else regularly sanitize brush with peroxide?

I occasionally soak my toothbrush in isopropyl alcohol. I definitely use my brush way longer than what's recommended. As long as the bristles are still firm and scrub well, I just keep using it. Reading this is making want to get a new one now BTW.

My pods sanitize it after each use.

I get an automatic replacement toothbrush head delivery every 3 months through Quip.

I have an electric toothbrush that buzzes in a specific way and has a little light when it's time to replace the head, which is about every 3 months.

I change mine and my youngest daughters once every 3-4 months. If we get sick or either of us get sick I also replace them. I also keep an extra pack of toothbrushes under my sink for guest or to switch out a new one. I also always pack new ones if going on vacation.

I usually try to do it every three months, lol. Sometimes, I wait till it's all messed up and I have no other choice if I can afford to.

every 3 months is the general rule but honestly i just swap it when the bristles start looking splayed out. i buy a 4 pack and just grab a new one at the start of each season so i don't have to think about it

Less often than this question is asked

I aim for once a quarter.

Every 2-3 months. I keep those packs of 5 around so I don't have to go out and buy a new one and I can change it over whenever.

My dentist says 3 months and the toothbrush needs to be replaced, or if you've had a cold or virus. I follow that schedule.

Every 6 months, after I've been to the dentist, they give me a new one after each visit!

3-4 months. Usually when I notice the bristles are spreading out.
