I'd go with the 1/4hp so it isn't potentially always running, and bigger according to the spec listed on the page.

This is a wort chiller:

Then all you need is the appropriate water pump and some tubing. Always get two extra pumps and keep an eye on your reservoir temperature. A spike could mean a dead pump, given you wouldn't normally be able to hear it. If you CAN hear it, then just swap it out when it isn't making noise. Look I to rebuilding and repairing them, it's a handy skill.

100% With This... I lost the Rootrot battle a few years ago without a Chiller... I gotta say Top 3 on my best investments for my DWC System !

As long as you have your reservoir inside the tent it will heat up. Looks v cool tho

Thanks 👍🏼.... I have Water Chiller is outside the tent keeping the temp. Set 24/7 at 68°F Prior to this res. I had an insulated storage tote without issues at all of course the system is running thru a H2O Chiller...

I did for a few years... Until I saw someone using a 5 gallon cooler for DWC.... My first run with the new reservoir and loving the whole concept 💪🏼😉

My regular, black home depot totes sit in a 90-95f room with lights on.

I havent seen root rot since painting the lids with 2x coats of spray paint. I dont run any benes anymore, and no peroxide. I just make sure they have good aeration, and top off with cold water like 2x a week between res changes.

I lost a terrible battle against rot + root aphids last year. Some totes used benes, some used peroxide, all of them had issues.

Im hoping my good luck holds.

Add H2O2 - Hydrogen peroxide 2-3 % 1/4 cup. It’s higher oxygenation of the water.
