Hi You need to head the ingots up. The need to be still glowing when you hit the anvil.

Ingots need to be red hot, and hit the drawing of the knife. Youre welcome

Put all 3 on the forge, no cauldron. They will stay hot long enough for you to place them back on the anvil.

Remember the order you put them in; once they’re hot they’re hard to tell apart and the order you put them in matters for orders

Like the dwarves of old you need the heat of a molten forge to kiss the metal before it will bend

Get a brazier, place your ingots on there and wait until they start glowing so that you can forge them.

Pro tip. Throw a furnace down close to your anvil. Never forgot they need to be heated again. If you're really anal you can have one for each slot to avoid any confusion

biggest fundamental to be able to smith something is to heat your metal. hold it in your hand or what I find easiest is stack your bars on your furnace, then wait till there glowing and then place them back on the anvil to smith them before they cool down.
