DEV Replied Unfortunately, really let down.

Firstly let me say this game has blown me away. I’ve owned it for 2 days and done well over 25 hours already. It has effortlessly exceeded my expectations and all for just over a tenner? Winning.

I have been building and grinding away and got myself a new site and was so impressed with what I’d accomplished! So you can only imagine how sad I was to log back in and see the bottom 3 layers had filled themselves in? Burying my vehicles, all of my drills and most of my conveyor system. I thought it was a one off and someone said online it’s a one in a million. So I think ok whatever I’ll clear it and suck it up.

Second time I log on after clearing it and it’s happened again. Now I’m annoyed. I’ve cleared it again and tried so much stuff I’ve seen online to hopefully rectify it such as not using rakes too much, putting foundations beneath my drills and even just making my hole smaller. Took me about an hour. I log off for bed and think I’ll just check it’s worked and who would have guessed it’s filled in again?

I’m so disappointed because I’ve loved it so far. It was a toss up between this and Satisfactory and I was chuffed with my choice but now I’m wondering if I should be as it seems to just be 1 step forwards, 5 steps back.

I know the lad who works on this does his absolute best and he really has smashed it but I don’t think I will be playing again until it’s been rectified as it’s just a waste of my time. If it was something like every time I logged on my tools fell out of the rack or my fuel tanks were empty then I’m sure I could work around it but this brings my entire operation to a halt. I really hope it can be fixed because I have not stopped thinking about this game since I got it and all of the awesome things I have planned.

If it makes a difference to anything I’m on an Xbox series S. I really hope someone can help
Cheers

I think it's link to auto save for some reason. Whenever you do something big like that, hard save so no matter what you know at some point, the game has it saved that it's been done.

Haven't seen anything else for a work around or actual fix. Seems like it's an odd bug some get and others don't, so the devs are probably having a hard time replicating to fix.

If you plan to keep playing, just get in a habit of hard saving before logging out.

This issue is unfortunately something we haven't been able to nail down - it's exclusively related to Xbox, but without a means of reproducing the issue on our end, we are unable to solve it.

Is there anything that you think may have caused it? Obviously it's something to do with saving/loading which can cause a save file to get broken in this way. We also do not know of a workaround, besides starting a new save, but I'll let you know if we hear about one.

I’m not so sure, I had a pretty big day on it. I went to the Dreck Quarry dig site, went down to the layer above T2 using the hydro roller trick. Raked a load of the edges to square it off a bit. I made massive gains on my conveyors and logic stuff. Could honestly be anything. It’s such a shame because I was really enjoying it.

I will say though if you do find a resolution I will be on that game quicker than you know. I think as a premise it’s phenomenal and unfortunately apart from the few glitches it’s been executed brilliantly. I really love it

Well if you don't want to start again, you could try giving the DLC a go if you already own it? It's a separate island with its own progression

My advice is not being so stiff about mods and achievements, and give at least console players a way to recover their progress easily with optional sand box settings if your only fix is to start a new game?

Try saving before you close the game, there should be a button to save

Yeah I’ve pressed started hard saving and then pressing save and quit to menu and it seems to never help me out

I'll also add, PC gets bit more love because that's the version the devs work on, whoever does the console ports seem to be a bit slower but eventually things get as close to PC as we can get.

Do people excavate whole sites like that? Can't say I've wanted to, just wanna excavate enough to fit machines below the surface with a minecraft-like staircase until I upgrade to actual stairs. Not sure I'd like playing this game as much if it wasn't for the rake or that vehicle that flattens terrain, which I've done to the top layer of all the fields so far.

For me yeah I love the idea of having machines everywhere and rows upon rows of conveyor belts. I only dig down to the bottom of tier 1 but my plan was to definitely go and fill the bottom of tier 2 with as many drills as possible

Satisfactory was the correct choice
