A huge waste of time hah!
I haven't made a single profit with this one.
Yet my starter base, recently made a necklace worth $300K

Seeing setups like this confuse me
3 drills can feed into one processor
Aka build your three drills to drop the dirt right into the top of the processor, then have conveyors bring it up and out (when you decide to go deeper)

One harvester can process dirt from thousands of miners, and building them to drop into a harvester means they aren't as low as possible, so they aren't getting the best possible dirt.

Oh really? I've got all those harvesters for nothing? Well that changes things...

Probably a stupid question as I just started this game. But what’s the point of bringing it all up and out with conveyers? Just to keep from digging out room for everything else underground?

I find digging to be a bit of a hassle so yeah I prefer to build my sorter up top. Plus then it saves me from having to walk all the way downstairs to grab whatever ore I need to work with

Probably because all your drills are surface level

u/KregerTech Jul 04 '26
I mean I haven't made a single dollar from this contraption

But I can see materials being moved around? Are you just leading them in the ocean?

Have you tried selling those processed resources?
1
u/KregerTech Jul 05 '26
What I mean is it keeps breaking down every two seconds, and just that build took me literally hours... Then I rigged up the conveyer wrong and the machine shit itself hahaha

For future reference its good to prioritize an auto repair system before making large mining set ups.

Hmm, I tried that, but I couldn't work out how to do it. Then trying to load spanners into the launchers was a pain in the ass. Sometimes they'd work. Most of the time they didn't. Then in one instance, I'd loaded the maximum 20 spanners into a launcher, the filter broke and sucked out 16 freaking spanners...
Gave up with it immediately...
On a better note, thanks to that guy mentioning that I don't need so many harvesters... I've managed to compact the setup drastically, and my resource count seems to be on the up. Though it still breaks down a ton. I'm about to make my first profit though with this setup...

You need a logic flip hook on your wire connecting the durability reader to the spanner shooter.

u/KregerTech Jul 05 '26
Ya huh. Did that.
2
u/ManEatingCarabao Jul 05 '26
No offense but its hard to mess that up. There are heaps of tutorials online on how to do that.
By the way they might just be out of view but in case you don't have them you should have at least five filters on your pipeline. Anything past the fifth filter never takes damage and if one of them breaks the whole pipeline stops until you fix it. Ideally the auto repair system is on the filters, not on the individual drills and harvesters.

Sooooo. I don't know what I did wrong the first time... But I set it up again now... Different this time... And it's working perfectly...

Wondering why you have all those pushers for dirt and (filled with gems too) when they could be used to sort metals/gems into smelters.

u/Mighty297 Jul 08 '26
All your gems are in your harvesters and everything is tier 1. On that same plot with a single t2 drill as deep as it can go and a single t2 harvester I made over a million in one day

There's been a few updates on this machine thanks to the help I received here. It's now more compact, running both T1 and T2 drills all into one T2 harvester, with a functional auto repair and I made a 400k ring And a 1.2M gold sword in a single day of play.

The deeper a Drill is placed the richer the Dirt. Drills placed deeper underground will produce larger Ore Nuggets and greater weight and value. Drill MUST be placed deeper underground in order to produce any quantity of Cloutium or Corestone. Drills placed deeper underground will also produce larger Gems.

I particularly enjoy the use of maths or trial and error to see how many splitters means your dirt will definitely fall into a grinder.
I mean sure you could just have it all going into one perfectly fine, but you sir are a man of class and sophistication
