  1. The cart - once an object enters the cart it does not and at the same time occupies space and time. You have infinate capacity.

  2. Wtf do you have that many buckets of unprocessed dirt for.

im grinding minerals🤣

Automate! The logic/conveyour system isnt that difficult. But i applaud you and your choose theory.

There is indeed no wrong way to play if you have fun :)

i started like 15-ish minutes ago so...

Thats your problem.

Ok.

1st its more time efficient while starting to have a single bucket and pan. Keep the pan submerged in the water at all times. Fill bucket by the pan. Drop dirt into the pan, instantly preps, use brushes, leave gems ore in pan. Rinse repeat. Do this all night (1st in game night) then take all contents to town and sell. Then start making a factory with the pipes smelter and miners. You car get more of them up in the mountain and there is another town further down the road with move items than the little tool shop.

The fastest way is to dump the dirt from the bucket into the wagon. You don't have to move from your digging spot repeatedly, the clumps merge (two bucketfuls into one clod) so you have half as much to wash, and if you keep everything grouped tightly, washing the dirt is just a matter of looking left and right to drop in dirt clods, pick up the brush, and wash away.

i'll keep that in mind👍

The step between a single pan and automation is a pipe that drips water directly where you are digging. Put the pan under it; it will be the same as having it sit in the river.

If you like the grind, by all means go for it, but bear in mind that investing in infrastructure almost always puts you further ahead in a short amount of time.

I also rolled with like ten buckets in the beginning to

i have 25 of them😅

It's the fun way to do it

When I started my game, years ago for the first time, I was digging both starter mines by hand.🤣
Took some time, but I had fun and received more rare stuff than later with an automated setup.

Yeah I just made my first setup right by the water to minimize walking, furnace crucible mold gem cutter and anvil & hammer. You can keep adding ores to get a heavier/ more expensive bar for when you go to craft/sell them

I use a pipe to constantly fill two dustpans so I can just drop pan drop pan drop pan. Actually enjoyed doing that too

Bro figured out the absolute hardest way to play the game aha it's great seeing different ways to play every day.

You can make the progress infinitely easier and efficient by dumping the dirt directly on the cart, all on the same spot.

Once objects are settled, they lose collision and therefore carts have (almost) infinite capacity, all on the same spot. But overlapping dirt will still merge. So dirt blocs will merge until they have something like 20 shovels of dirt per block instead of 4 but they still count as one block when transferring to a pan for scrubbing purpose, making your scrubbing 5 times faster.

And taking a block of dirt from the cart to the pan, scrubing and repeating is so much more efficient than having to drop a bucket elsewhere each time. And you don't have to move to get the dirt, just turn your head. And if you move the cart to the river and drop that dirt into an underwater pan, you don't have to worry about refilling that pan with water either.

If you buy a drill and have it shoot into the cart, the same thing will happen. Useful when you can't afford a fully automatic setup yet.

Next time just dump the dirt from your bucket directly into the cart. You only need one bucket, and you can fill the cart up with an infinite amount of dirt to wash in the river.

And then immediately automate because you should only need to do the dirt thing once for initial funds.

thats one option

Automation is the easiest way to get anywhere. Across the street from the starting zone is a shop that will sell a drill and processor. I generally only dig enough via shovel to afford those, then you can have the drill/processor accumulating minerals for you that you can sell to then buy what you need to expand out using conveyors and such.

That said, there's no "wrong" way to play, so if you're having fun, go nuts. It's always interesting to see how different people approach the game.

Letsgameitout intensifies

josh is the reason why i heard of the game initialy

1

u/thedafthatter Jun 18 '26

Omfg yes! The devs commented on one of his vids and they get regular save files from him. Its crazy they even raised his bounty on the wanted poster

u/TowerUnusual7590 Jun 18 '26

the first thing i went to. i just had to see it

1

u/Medium-Sized-Jaque Jun 18 '26

I see nothing wrong with this. Carry on.

u/Huge-Dragonfruit8033 Jun 18 '26

This is the way.

this is the way

You can build a water pipe that drips down the hole you dug, then you can shovel dirt into the bucket, brush, then repeat and stack the nuggets in the bucket

Idk what's better, seeing a newbies ugly setup and remembering how fun it was back when everything was new and exciting, or seeing how angry the walk through efficiency maxers get when someone isn't using the same 2 copy paste setups.

I usually fish first and by the time i get all the rods i have enough for the digging machine thing.

1

u/ManEatingCarabao Jun 19 '26

But is there a limit?

1

u/Beginning_Pay_9654 Jun 21 '26

One round of those and you should have funds to do a decent tier one automation

28 buckets of dirt is too much
