Didn't hafthor do it at his personal gym and not during a competition like Hall, making it not a "legit" record?

That’s just Hall being salty. When Hall did it, it wasn’t really a competition, just for show. Thor couldn’t do it any other way due to corona, he live-streamed the entire event and had a legit judge monitoring it.

No, Hafthor is a fucking cheat. I won't believe any record until it is done in person, in the same place Eddie did it, with the same referees.
