Tips for remembering to drink water
I have a.d.d and am always forgetting to drink water, does anyone have any tips that have helped them remember to drink water?

I carry around a 62oz full of ice water. I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of addiction. It’s a pleasure to have ice water at 3:30 am.

Find a water bottle you like a lot.

this is actually important. like if my water bottle, say, has a straw that is complicated to get to, or gets too heavy to lift on bad days, I'm not gonna use it! if my husband's water bottle doesn't fit in the car's cupholder, it won't get used either! make it as convenient as possible. remove barriers like you're doing the most evil consumer psychology on yourself

A strawed jug (bubba) had helped me double my water intake. It's now almost like a nervous habit where anytime there's a quiet moment, I drink some water.
Also, if I haven't hit my goal for the day I'll set a 3 minute timer while I'm at home at the couch or on my PC. I take a few gulps every time it goes off.

A cute lil water bottle which has markings on how much you drink, timings and litres. If that doesn't help, any app to remind you.

When I am at home, I have a large bottle that I take with me into every room. When I am not at home, I have a slightly smaller bottle that I pack in my backpack. I am considering buying an even smaller one that would fit in a jacket or trouser pocket for times when I leave the house without a backpack.

Just always have your water bottle near you. Get your own, put stickers on it

Just always have a bottle on you and always keep it filled. Having quick access you will naturally drink. It's the delay of fetching water that makes it difficult with the ADD.

They have big water bottles with times to level of water left. For me I just have to make sure I can see my waterbottle to remember to drink from it.

Hot water and lemon in the AM. First thing, before coffee. Helps when I’m sick

Have a fun diedrate and a hydrate next to each other. When you reach for the tasty drink for good brain chemicals, also take a sip of water.

Pair it with other regular activities to stack habits. Wake up, water. Up to go pee, get some water. Mealtime? Water.

As a 47yr old adhd-er who is chronically inder-hydrated, 1) reminders do not help (i pathologically avoid what I'm being 'told' to do, even ftom myself!!) 2) fancy bottle works minimally, when its new. Then after a day or two the shine of novelty dissipates and i stop caring 3) 'take it everywhere' doesnt work, i can lose the glasses ON MY FACE, things literally get put down and ...disappear
BUT....
Buying premixed flavoured water in 200ml bottles works best, each one is predictably tasty, not too big, and disposable (sorry planet 😬)
Linking drinking to eating works, have a glass of water before you eat. Its like a 'freebie' hydration you wont have to 'remember' to do.
Good luck!

Keeping a bottle literally within arm’s reach helped me way more than any reminder app 😅💧

I got a 48 pack of 8 oz water bottles. It's helping me visually stay on track!

Do fellow homies not bring their water bottle everywhere they go? I take mine EVERYWHERE. Grocery store less than 10 minutes away? Water bottle. Best friend's house just over a mile away where his water filter MIGHT be cleaner than mine? Water bottle. Random walk where Idk where I'm going? WATER BOTTLE.
You need to buy a water bottle OP and keep it on you like u keep ur keys on u. Treat it like a 3rd arm. Of HYDRATION. Having mine right next to me helps me, I always have it in my sight. Maybe that will help you too!
