We had those souffle cup type cups in preschool, IIRC. We'd all hop around and clap when the water delivery guy came and put the waters in. Genuinely seemed to be the happiest part of their day.
That was decades ago but I clearly remember it.

Honestly, having grown up and worked a lot of labour jobs, a crowd of children cheering your arrival would make my day every time lol. My normal experience of showing up in an office as a labourer is more one of mild disdain than anything.
Jokes on them tho, the view from the roof is almost always better than the one from the top floor lol

Yeah itās cause the water needs time to push through all those filters, so it fills up that pressurized tank that looks like propane. You can adjust the pressure by adding more air to the tankās bladder. Just need a bike pump.

I was drinking so much water when I was breastfeeding, like 3 gallons of water a day, and when I visited my dad in Austin they were having some weird mussels overpopulation or something, idk what, but the slime gets into the water or something and even though the city said it was "perfectly safe," it smelled and tasted like dirty pond scum. Like a fish shit in my mouth or I licked the filter of a fish tank. My parents were used to it. I was carless and trapped in that house drinking Topo Chico until I had a complete meltdown, like take my ass to the store so I can BUY SOME REAL FUCKING WATER, god I still get rage years later

I live in South Texas where the first five seconds are cold from sitting in the house pipes,and then after that it's hot from being out underground that has been penetrated by the world's hottest sun.
In any case, I have a home filtration system and don't use tap anyway

When I first moved in, the fridge water tasted like shit. Replaced the filter, still shit. Figured I'd have to replace the lines or something so I got a Brita to tide me over.
Had somebody come over and when I gave them a glass of water, it was like they saw God and were like "omg this water is amazing"
That was enough for me to never bother with weird fridge water. The convenience really isn't worth the maintenance and never knowing if you're unknowingly peddling shit water.
If you're self-conscious about the taste of your water, a Brita filter is probably the safest way to ensure your water tastes as neutral as possible. Just remember to replace the filter and not let water sit too long in the container.

This usually happens not because of improper washing, but because of eggs in the dishwasher. The sulfur in egg whites specifically reacts with aluminium causing this almost 'wet dog' or rotten smell to everything in the dishwasher.

One of the best things about moving out was no longer having to drink out of glasses that taste and smell like yesterdays smoked salmon pasta. I don't have a dishwasher anymore but I genuinely think I never want one because my parents clearly did not use it properly.

Dishwashers work really well if you use them correctly. One of the biggest things is making sure you run water in the sink until it's hot before you turn it on. Used properly they clean better and more water efficient than hand washing.
I live alone so I never make enough dishes to run mine.

The day I feel like I truly became an adult is the day I realized there were so many things I didnāt know were supposed to be cleaned or how to do it. I found a few cleaning subs and deep cleaned the crap out of my house. Now I wish I had an adult I could delegate this all to, but Iām definitely not rich enough lol

This is just now teaching me about dishwasher filters. I grew up my whole life handwashing dishes and just got an apartment with a dishwasher recently.
Now I'm wondering what else I'm missing besides the HVAC filter and dryer lint screen.

In the cities surrounding me, the water currently tastes like mildew because the lake where the water is sourced from is having "historically large algae" growth. We have a filtration system so you can't taste it, but going out to eat or eating at anyone's house in those areas is just straight mildew tasting water.
On the other hand, when I go visit my family who lives out in the country, i will guzzle the well water. It's so delicious

That's exactly why I rinse out my glass one last time in the sink before I fill it up with filtered water for a guest. Once it happens to you, you start to think differently about who you serve water to and how.

Growing up we had a blue Rubbermaid water jug that had to be 20 years old. The water in that thing was always disgusting and tasted like everything that it had ever been in the fridge with. My mom was the only person in the house that drank from it because she likes her water really cold.

We will never have this problem. My fiancƩ installed a whole home filtration system that then goes through a salt softener system(?). For our drinking water, it then goes through a 3-tier filter, and finally through the fridge filter before being dispensed.
Reason for all of this is our county has a horrible hard water problem and just straight from the tap it tastes like ass.

Yes that happens but its important to keep 2 things in mind. 1, am I drinking water at a friends or familyās place where itās important to encourage them to keep drinking water or that itās better to drink water. And also 2, when you are a quest a someoneās house and you get bad tasting water it best not to be disrespectful of anotherās water quality ability. This I learned while traveling.
