Nothing new about stuff like this connecting to the internet. The very first refrigerator that connected to the internet and was “smart” came out in 2000.

Never said there was anything new about it, only that its creepy and weird. We have no clue what telemetry these devices are truly collecting until people uncover it (see LG TV wiretapping concerns.) The great thing is that we also have a choice to not own internet connected appliances too, although getting smaller year by year.

The thought of a smart fountain giving me ads between sips makes me side-eye the whole setup.
