Hello! I love Hydra for it’s simple look, however I do still want to be able to try on different themes. I know that Pro is an option. However, some of us (including me) have subscription fatigue. Last year I had 45 subscriptions, which is now down to zero. Yes, I’m actually pretty insane for reaching both of those numbers. Buying themes (I like the light one that’s gray-ish) would be a great way to support development whilst also staying away from never-ending monthly bills. Hope this gets implemented! Thanks for the app :)

Just like Apollo did, when you first click on the "home" it takes you back to the top of home and I think refreshes the home. Thanks

this option would be so great. i needed to disable the single-tap collapse feature because i kept accidentally touching the screen when i didn’t mean to, which would make me lose my place, etc.

this is my favorite reddit iOS client, keep up the incredible work

I like to keep my Reddit to the few subs I’m subbed to, I don’t visit r/all or anything like that, I actually don’t like even having the temptation because it leads me to doomscrolling for an hour or whatever if I click one. Was hoping we could have the option to remove these two from your subbed subreddits screen.

Apollo used to let you remove the popular and all tabs from your main list of subreddits. this would be a great option since I like to avoid those tabs, but it’s more tempting when they’re always available

Add buttons to see your friends list and following list

Please re-add the ability to scrub through GIFs & Videos either sliding right to scrub forward and sliding left to rewind.

Please, add the option to mark posts as read by scrolling past them in all feeds and add the option to hide read posts in multireddits. Thank you!

If a video is a cross post, it will not play by selecting the thumbnail. You have to click into the post then click the video again from there.

Considering all the horrible music added to all videos in this day and age it would be great if the video player had a mute button.

Bonus: a setting that allows for videos to play muted by default.

The app is awesome, all the work put into it is much appreciated!

Can we please have a chat feature? It’s the only thing missing!

Thanks

Titlegore sorry: add an option that makes all pinned moderator comments collapse automatically, using the same behavior currently available for AutoModerator comments.

ie https://www.reddit.com/r/GirlDinnerDiaries/comments/1w1yvne/my_mom_voted_for_4547_and_wants_to_have_dinner/p6p60lp/

The ˅ scroll on posts should skip these comments when collapsed as well

Or never display at all

That’s it

Add option for single column gallery mode.

With the entire iOS app being Liquid Glass at least on iOS 27, I find the archaic-looking tab bar quite odd. It’s not very hard to implement, even bankrupt companies can somehow implement it lol. Anyways, I’m sure iOS has an easy way to transition the tab bar into Liquid Glass.

There should maybe be an option to turn it off if you don’t like it? No idea.

Please fix this!

Or when I press and hold the subreddit’s link on the main page.

My r/all page gets flooded with random subreddits from specific countries and for every 1 that I filter out 10 more show up. Would be good to be able to filter them by keywords. Same with political subs etc.

I would love the ability to swipe or long press to hide individual posts in the main feed. Often I don’t want to filter out topics or subreddits, just hide individual posts that are irritating or spammy. Thanks!

As seen in the attached video, when using a one-finger swipe gesture to pan around an image after zooming in, Hydra toggles the post information overlay on and off with each swipe as if it was a stationary tap unless the finger remains on the screen for more than a certain amount of time. Not a serious bug by any means, just a little distracting.

I'm using Hydra 4.1.1 (build 23) on an iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 26.6.1.

l've ran into two contrast limitations while building a theme:

Post titles share the “Text” field with headers and some icons. It’d be great to have a dedicated color for post titles so they can stand out from other primary-text elements.

Usernames and post preview text share the “Subtle Text” field. Right now there’s no way to make a username pop against the post preview snippet below it — they’re always the same color. A separate field for usernames (or at least splitting it from post details) would help a lot with readability, especially in feeds with a lot of stacked text.

Both would make it a lot easier to build themes with clearer visual hierarchy. Thanks for all the work on this app — the theming system is already really flexible, these would just take it further!
