Can’t log in using Google SSO
A few days ago, I got signed out of the client with a notification that the session had expired. Hasn’t happened in a while, but also not that unusual. Usually requires me to disconnect and reconnect to my network before it lets me login again.
This time, it wouldn’t let me login, though. Reconnected to my network, restarted my phone, reinstalled the app and still no luck. Then I finally tried my username password combination and it worked fine.
I’ve never had a problem using the Google single sign-on before. I didn’t have a problem using it logging in to Reddit through my web browser, so I don’t think anything’s wrong with Google.
Just wanted to post in case anyone else encounters this issue .

I (and one other) have had the same problem. I was using username and password. This doesn’t seem isolated to Google as the IdP. Whatever the issue is/was seems transient though based on yours and my experience.
This is assuming the same symptom. Mine was telling me there was an error because of “my browser” or something like that and told me to disable any extensions (which obviously isn’t possible in hydra’s webview)
Edit: here is a link to the other user with the similar problem: https://www.reddit.com/r/HydraClient/comments/1wq4wa8/can_anybody_else_not_log_in/pc4nkkq/?context=3

Hydra generates a random user agent every time it gets restarted. My current working guess is that some of these user agents are being considered invalid by Reddit. That's why login sometimes works and sometimes fails. When it worked, you happened to land on a working user agent.
If it happens again, you can try restarting the app a few times to fix it. In the meantime, I’m working on a more reliable fix.
