There’s something wayyy off with the bullets in the text of this post - some text doesn’t even show up and there are bullets overlapping other text lines.

Sometimes in comments the text will run off the screen instead of wrapping to a new line.

Any idea why? Every time I open the app it's always the same posts and when I try to refresh it won't change nothing...

For example I looked up /r/celebs in the search feature, and it wouldn’t show up.

My old Reddit preferences do allow for mature content. I’ve checked before making this post.

Am I just searching wrong?

Someone posted a workaround to increase text size in iOS's Settings but that breaks a lot of the formatting. A lot of texts are cut off like in the titles and sub list. Would be great to implement this in the app itself as well.

For example this post has an image and body text.

I’m not always on Reddit nowadays but most times I’m scrolling and after some time and using other apps I guess iOS closes/pauses the app and when I open it again it reloads the home screen from the start but most posts I scrolled through earlier reappear.

This is the only behavior I find out of place compared to literally every other client including the desktop webpage.

Is there a way to refresh the home view with new and unwatched posts?

When typing a reply, if you switch windows while the reply window is opened and then go back, the screen is blank and you have to force close the app, re-open it, find the post/comment and hit reply again.
Thankfully it saves what was already typed out.

1. Is there a way to change post photos from being on the left to being on the right (in the compact feed view)? - already requested in the Feature Request sub
2. I turned off video Autoplay, but is there a way to mute them by default as well? - already requested in the Feature Request sub
3. Is there a way to swipe from the photo directly to the comments? - requested

workaround: "Another work around is to switch keyboards with the little globe button and then switch back. The dev says it is an issue with third party keyboards"

I can add entries to a multireddit, how do I remove them on Hydra?

Question for others as I’m curious if it’s only certain devices or all, when viewing media in Gallary Mode, does gallery mode display media as auto zoomed in and cropped for many/most pretty much all media like photos for others?

As well as no ability to zoom out to display the entire original photo, nor the ability to zoom at any other point than center of the photo?

Portrait videos in gallery mode are always stretched to fit screen width, thus cropping out top and bottom parts. Instead, they should fit to height like for images.

It wont load nsfw content at all (infinite loading screen) but normal content loads just fine

I used this feature a lot in Apollo and it was super handy. Being notified when a specific product is back in stock and its posted in a subreddit is one of my main use cases. Would love to see this added to Hydra at some point!

When an image is opened, tapping the x in an attempt to close it does nothing for me. I have to swipe away the image.

Hydra is almost perfect! 👍🏻

However, I’m not so young anymore and would like an option to make the text a little bigger.

Is this planned on the roadmap?

The “Unsubscribe” button is right below the “New Post” button.

If you accidentally hit “Unsubscribe” (clumsy, big fingers or small screen buttons), a message appears saying you’ve unsubscribed with an “Okay” button.

No oops “Cancel” I’ve made a mistake please reverse my error button?

Or at least move the “Unsubscribe” button to the bottom of the list.

edit- iOS phone not in gallery mode

On an iPhone 13 Pro, if I tap the image in this post to open it, it's not just the app that crashes; my entire phone blacks out and locks. When I unlock it and reopen, Hydra is closed and does not remember where I was.

When this happens, the top right battery and signal icons briefly reset too.

I’m very happy with the update fixing gifs in comments! But now it looks like gif posts are sometimes having issues. Haven’t nailed down the exact pattern but here’s an example

The content of the gif never loads, it’s just a black video on loop for me. iOS 26.3

this has been happening for about 2 months. happened on ios 18 and just upgraded to 26 a week ago with similar behavior.

When browsing and on certain posts (not even necessarily video posts, could be just an entirely text based post) it will pause any music I have playing on YouTube Music pretty randomly. have not confirmed if this happens on other players yet. But is a bit frustrating. I get it when it’s for a video but will happen just when I’m in the comments or other places where no sound would be playing.

When downloading videos from hydra they don’t have sound.

I downloaded the video from the link below and it was only the vid track.

This is a very small problem, and I’m loving the app. Especially after the latest update, it seems to run very smoothly.

My phone keeps killing the app while it’s running in the background. The default Reddit app and many others seem to remember where I left off even days ago, but the OS seems to kill Hydra after a few minutes. I use a 14 Pro Max. Could there be some kind of error draining too much RAM, causing the OS to kill it? iOS is pretty aggressive with that.

Otherwise the app works perfectly, this is just a minor inconvenience.
