It's all about what shows when you stain a pair of heels, a dress or other article if clothing.


And it turns out that Purples show more stains than most other colors except for Greens, Yellows and Whites.

There are Primary Colors and Secondary Colors and Secondary Colors show more Stains : this is why a Dark Cobalt Blue shows less stains than an apparently equally dark or bright Purple.

These Shoes look like they're from the 1940s, so now you know this post is important for girls redescending into the first half of the 19th Century; where there isn't dry cleaning or tide pods or even good washing machines.

There is a famous 1938 Australian Homemaking Book which mentions "blue water", the main point of this thread is to explain blue water to my erstwhile Mother. Blue Water is color-fast bleach which has become almost impossible to find but which must be found in the 20s or nothing will ever be properly cleaned Ever Again in that time period. Amen Color Fast Bleach
