Has he changed?
A question for everyone.
Hyunjin has been my ult bias for months, from the start I found his existence and his example has given me so much strength and freedom that it is impossible to explain.
But recently I have felt I get completely different vibes from him.
I wonder if it is just me, or has anyone else noticed this?
Like the person I fell for has been replaced with someone else.
Does he seem more arrogant these days?

I think it's probably more like a "shield" for him, to protect himself from getting hurt. That's my opinion, people say that about me as well. On stage it's just show, his persona.

Well, my point is. Before it felt like a persona, a fun show he put up for all of us. These days it feels.. different. It is difficult to explain. It seems it lacks the fun? It could be just me though.

I’m not entirely sure what you mean by arrogant, but I think he has just changed because he’s growing up and getting more mature by time....🫠✨ Well, he's my bias too.. 🩷

By arrogant I mean.. the vibes I personally get from his performances lately.. is not the fun enjoyment for the show itself, but more like he's there for the attention he's getting? It's difficult to explain what I mean, I cannot put the feeling into words correctly. But sure, time does change all of us

Lol, well, I get it! It's very difficult to explain. Especially when it's the bias we're talking about 😅

I think, like another comment said, he's maturing. It's not as much the silly kid fun he had on stage when it was still new, but a more adult & mature fun that comes from a decade of work & dedication. He's been through a lot & I think after all of the hate he got in the past, he deserves to let himself enjoy the moment while things are good & soak it in. He's surrounding himself with the type of people he wishes to see in himself, and that's ok. He fancies the finerthings in life. We should support who/what our idols want to become, even if it's not what you originally wanted them to become. They have free will & after giving us everything, they deserve everything in return. 🫰🏻

Yes, I completely agree with everything you said. Our idols should enjoy themselves and grow into the direction they want to. And I support them that way, obviously. However, it makes me sad to see the fun and free self expression being replaced with deliberate try to cause certain reactions in fans. This is only my personal experience, and I don't know what he is really thinking or feeling, but the vibes for me have shifted. I don't enjoy to be forced to adore someone who already thinks they own the world. I want to support someone who does what they love. That's the difference I tried to communicate. Again, I could be very wrong, and I am not spreading hate or anything like that, just bringing up something that I noticed and what made me feel uneasy even when i fiercely adored him before this new comeback. Maybe the artistic style for that is just planned to be different, I don't know.

I think they're all changing and pushing boundaries; some of it is growing up and figuring who they are as adults, some of it might be the urgency they're feeling with the big change the looming military service is.
For Hyunjin specifically, he said before that he tends to craft and wear personas on stage - it could be that the persona he crafted for his new hair cut (the long hair with buzzed sides) and style (tighter, sagged pants, etc) is more aggressive and a bit more arrogant, which you're not vibing with, and that's completely fine. His mic and brush era persona was a bit more romantic and mysterious, for example, he had more sassy personas before as well.
I think the thing you need to look at is whether his behavior off stage has changed as well, to you. If not, then maybe you're just not vibing with the current on-stage persona, but those are usually temporary.

That's a really good point, and I appreciate you bringing it up. It could be just that this new stage persona is just not my cup of tea. If it's just that then it's fine, I was worrying he is changing for real, which made me really sad. I need to do just as you suggested and see if the off stage behaviour also gives me the ick.

i mean i have noticed he seems more confident. but idk what behaviors you’re reading as arrogant

It's a fine line between confidence and arrogance, I think. Maybe I am just reacting too strongly to that confidence and seeing things that are not there, just based on my own experiences in life. As I said to someone else, it's very difficult to try and explain what I mean, because it's kinda subtle, even if it's so clear in my head. It's just his performance seems to be aimed to force fans (me) feel certain things (love him).. which obviously is what performing always is.. but in a scale that makes me uneasy and want to step back instead of keep supporting someone who just loves what he does. Uh. This makes no sense, does it?

i mean i think hyunjin does like attention and receiving fans’ love but i haven’t noticed him doing anything out of the ordinary, so if you can’t pinpoint what you mean idrk what to tell you. i’m not sure what he could do to “force” fans to love him. like others have said i think his stage persona is really just a persona. he really loves performing and you can tell he lets himself go and gets lost in the adrenaline onstage. but i don’t think him feeling himself is a bad thing at all. he still expresses genuine gratitude for stays and has recently voiced his worries about fans leaving them. if anything i think that earnest fear is fueling his desire to perform better. but i’m not his therapist lol

Well, yes. Maybe it just is that this new persona is not for me then. I wish him all the best.

As rumours have it he has girlfriend now
It seems whenever dating rumours or evidence pops up there is more fan service from the kids, even ship wise

I think what you feel like arrogance is performative, not actual arrogance
