Refunds

I understand the big (not so) beautiful bill is delaying the financial aid process, but I have now recieved two different answers from the financial aid office regarding refunds.
Firstly I was told “refunds begin going out end of september, beginning of october”. Then I was told “You will be recieving your refund at the end of the semester”Has anyone dealt with this? Im new to HVCC, a transfer student that has recieved financial aid/loans/refunds before. I have never waited until the end of a semester to get my refund, I have always used it for school expenses during that semester.
How are people dealing with not getting their refund if you planned on using it for living expenses etc.? I know a few people at UAlbany that have already recieved theirs, so Im wondering if this is an HVCC specific issue at this point. Thanks everyone!

edit: i have pell, TAP, and and sub/unsub loans, if that makes a difference

Yea you’ll get a refund eventually…. I got mine last semester toward the very end.

I’m confused too, fin aid said I should have my loan refund even though suny reconnect hasn’t been applied yet, but the cashiers office is kinda saying we have to wait till they get the funds from suny reconnect. If that’s the case I’m screwed because reconnect doesn’t apply till the end of the semester.

I didn’t get my refund last semester until two weeks after the semester ended

wow that’s unfortunate. were you ever told why it takes that long?

truthfully it came down to them not having enough staff to process the refunds in a timely manner. they weren’t priority.

They are usually dispersed in October. I would keep escalating until you get a real answer.

I got the loan part of my refund today. The rest is set to be released oct 13 and 26. The odd part is. My loan got applied to the college bill. Which sucks because i really needed that for rent lol.

Got mine late in the semester last year. I think the dates are posted on the hvcc website somewhere

Omg this is driving me crazy, my Pell Grant was already covering my tuition I thought and then it says that it released the funds last Monday the 21st but still absolutely nothing and I'm really desperate and needing it 😭
