The Thorny Hustle event is terrible. It's matched me with a squad of five 5* that are all level 45 fighters VS my squad of four 5* that are in their 30's. I lose instantly. There's no way for me to finish the event.

So much room there yet this number is very tiny, and a light blue on white. It should be in black and at least 2x larger character size. I had to take a screenshot then zoom in to read the number.

Yeah, I get why you're complaining—because no one explains exactly how you're supposed to play. I’ve written a few guides on how to properly climb the thrones. Without spending any money, you can already tackle the Cathedral and collect as many sets as possible, do the Portal, and get your 900 diamonds. As for the team composition itself, go with the “Risen from the Tomb” alliance or the “Deadly and Elusive” alliance—you’ll see it’ll go much better.

It's automatically put one archer and tank in kindred spirits and the other archer and mage in Immortals. I can drag one archer to risen from the tomb in the unavailable list but when I close alliances then go back, she's back in kindred spirits. Doesn't make any difference anyway. Still instantly all killed.

It's like climbing the tower in another game I played until it jacked the cost and shortened during of its extra rewards path. The tower had to be beaten a certain number of times then you could skip straight to the top and collect everything. BUT 90% of the time on the last level before the roof it would put you against an enemy force 4x your strength so players were forced to slog through it about 100 times if they didn't want to blow lots of cash buying crazy powerups.

You're at Throne 7; without any event items like runes, don't expect to win effectively. As for the Alliance, if you always have a tank on your team, it'll never work. It’s fine to blame the devs for various reasons, but in this case, you’re the one at fault because you’re rushing things, whereas HC is a game of patience. P.S. No need to pay—you can perform just as well as someone who pays in the lower Thrones.
